L v Porsche

Had a fun race this morning.
Was on my way to the dyno when a 2002 Porsche Carrera blew past me. Well as luck would have it the lights changed to red up ahead.

The older, well mature guy in the Porsche takes a look over at me and says “Just how fast are these trucks?” I look at the lights and say “Wanna find out?” Sure he says with a big grin.
I am now looking at the red light and cross traffic; its early Saturday morning so not much traffic. We have 3 lanes ahead clear for ˝ mile.

So the cross traffic stops, the lights change and we are off, He spins just a touch off the line as I see his front end rise out the corner of my eye. At the same time I get a great start and pull him like crazy. We race up to around 60mph or so, by that time I had maybe 3 or 4 lengths on him.

We catch the next light; I am in the left turn lane. He stops next to me and asks me a million questions, first one being did you spray me? I say no, which is the truth, no nos on my truck. He was very impressed and was a real nice car guy. Said good job and enjoy the truck.

The kicker is behind him another guy in a Lexus pulls up to me. He saw the race; this guy is in his business suit. He looks over and says wow that thing is fugging amazing.

Well just thought I would share. It was a fun race on a quiet morning against an exotic car with a cool driver.

Those 911 GT 2's & 3's are no joke man. Power to weight ratio is insane, then mix in some AWD.

Yea, youre right. Both the GT2 and 3 are RWD. The Carrera 4S and 911 Turbo are awd.

I still wouldnt want to be lined up against either 4 of them though.

Carreras are not as fast as Ls. Find a Turbo next time. Those things haul ***. I drove my friends silver one. I had a mustang GT before this so I was used to fast cars. Then I get to drive the porsche and Iam in love. One of the best cars ever. Wide tires really hook.

definetly put a smile on my face....its fun to race guys who are cool and appreciate what you drive.....about a week ago i raced a viper up to about 90 and he only had me by a half length and when we get to the next stop light he just starts making fun of me and telling me what a piece of **** i drive....i wanted to get out of my "redneck" truck and beat his ***...its always a fun race whether you win or lose if its against a cool guy who appreciates what you have
