Back from the Dyno.

Let me just lay down the facts 1st.

Dyno with stock blower:
Temps were in the 60's.
Boost was around 14-15.

Dyno with KB blower:
Temps were right around 80.
Phenolic spacer
Boost came in at 11-12, then right at the top of the gear it would spike to about 15.

So here are the numbers(All numbers are SAE Corrected):
Stock: 430.0RWHP 558.2RWTQ
KB: 450.4RWHP 514.0RWTQ

The low torque numbers are because of only having 11LBS of boost at peak Toque levels. If I can get here to run 14PSI I expect the torque to jump well over the previous best of 558. While gaining 20 peak HP I also gained a max of 50RWHP up top versus the stock eaton!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With the average gain being around 30-40rwhp over 4750RPMS. That explains why it feels much much stronger up top. Now if I can get the boost back up to about 14PSI and keep it there at all times this thing will be screaming. At first I was a little upset with the torque loss but that is what running 3-4 pounds less of boost will do to ya. All in all I am very happy with the outcome and will be very happy once it gets custom tuned and more boost thrown at it. -Mat-

Can you post pics of the before and after graphs? I'd like to compare the duration of the torque curve. Was it any flatter; or, did it fall off at about the same rate as the stock Eaton?

The torque stayed flat flat flat. The eaton def drops the torque off more. I need to get a scanner then I will be more then glad to post the graphs. -Mat-

Mat, keep in mind, even if the max torque was higher with the Eaton, if the KB torque stayed up higher for more of the pull, that's more useable torque. The truck may be a tad less powerful out of the hole but that bit of power loss should be more than made up throughout the rest of the pull. The truck should ET better for sure.

When do you plan on trying your new combination at the track?

Looks like its time to visit JL for a Charlie chip

(Charlie chip), that's what I call a flat out awesome chip program that will make your KB wake up.

Great dyno numbers, now get that 3.0 pulley on it and you'll see even better numbers.

Sweet. Can't wait to hear of your results at the track. Today was a nice day around here to make a few trips down the track. I bet you you do get your set-up dialed in with the tune, it will really be a BIG DOG

Good Luck

That is exactly my thinking on it. Once I get my trans done(seems like that will never happen) I will be at the track. Thanks for you opinion it means a lot. -Mat-

What's going on with your boost? Why does it suddenly spike? Is the belt slipping? I would have expected it to initially peak then drop off, no the other way around. Not a flame just curious.

I do not know why the boost is doing that. I will have to make a few phone calls to see what is going on. If I can get it to stay at around 14 all the time I will be a very happy man. Thanks for all the opinions guys. -Mat-
