engine miss

At about 1200-1800 RPM in 3rd gear (OD off) when cruising I hear and feel the engine surging like a miss. (Probably does it all the time but it's more pronounced at that condition.) At WOT it sounds like it's missing but I can't really feel it. I just happen to hear it one day when I had the passenger side window down and the stereo off. So, I changed out the TR-5 plugs and installed TR-6s. The far back drivers side is not changed yet. (I just got a swivel socket to do it) but the surging is still there. I will change the last plug this weekend if there's no rain. I also plan on changing the fuel filter. Plugs were in since 7k and filter since 10k. It has 24k now. The plugs were a little rough looking but not burnt or broken-at least the 7 I have seen. The last one could be toast!! Am I on the right track to get rid of this miss or is there something else I need to check. It was only doing it for about a month before I changed out the 7 plugs.

Thanks

What are the plugs gapped at? Finish install of plugs and try resetting computer...I had similar dilima , and found that the 2 plugs I didnt change were the worst ones..one had a gap of 52 and the other 56......I like to run a tight gap, especially with blowers..Ill stay around .032 to .034

gap

I gapped the plugs at 0.035.
And yea, the last one is probably crappo. The engine felt much better after getting the 7 done, so the last one might be nasty. I'll get it done tomorrow and repost what happens. Thanks for the help.

Also, make sure you bottom out all the plugs in each cylinder ...If plug is not fully down in cylinder, can cause misfire symptoms.....Pete

plugs done

Dam, that last one on the driver's side was a PIA. I threaded them in, turned them out and threaded them back in until they stopped with no wrench (only socket and ext's) so I have to believe they are all the way in. It runs better but I still get some stuttering at WOT. WTH? At part throttle it sounds fine.
The fuel filter is next. I hope that's the reason. It's really hard to feel the engine missing 'cause it still pulls so strong and the whine is pretty loud. I have to put the pass. side window down and keep drvr side up to here the exhaust better.
If it doesn't start running the way it used to I'm gonna be whining louder than the Eaton.
