Question Worst Case Scenario

Just a few questions:

For you guys that have blown your motors how much does it usally cost to replace them?? I havent blown mine its just that i am curiouse to know how much it might cost. I know i could buy a JLP Short block built motor for 3,800. So i guess my real question is this: what is the most i would have to pay in the worst case scenario of a blown motor?

Thank you

Depends if you ventilate your block or not....

A shortblock can be had for 3500-4000 depending on internals, etc. A longblock is a couple of grand more.

Depends if your block and crank can be givn as cores...if not, tack on at least 500 extra dollars....REM shortblock 3900, ported heads 2500, cams 800, h volume oil pump 100, install around 1800 equals, Dam, I should of bought a cobra that comes stock with steel rods.......
