Does your blower clunk?

I was putting on replacement Gatorback blower belt on my truck last night. When the belt was off, I noticed that if I spun the pulley back and forth with my hand, I can hear, and feel, a slight clunk every time it changed direction. If I spun it in only one direction, there was no clunk. Also of interest is the fact that if I run the truck without the blower belt on, it still begins to spin if I rev the engine. Is all of this normal?

Thanks,
Edward

I would think that the air being brought through the intake while the engine is running is going to spin the charger!!

yes, you can actually run your truck without a blower belt, its not advisable and you should stay out of boost range, but if it breaks and you need to get to someplace to fix it, you actually can drive it, not a big deal.

As for the clunk, im not sure on that, but i think its normal.

The clunk you speak of is the backlash in the rotor drive gears.
