Feedback on FRPP 1/2 drop kit

Any positive or negative feedback on the use of the FRPP 1/2 drop kit on the 99 Lightning. Is a shock change and pinion shim necessary with this fairly mild setup?

Have it on my 01. No shock or shims needed. Improves handling and firms the ride up.

I'd give it a for sure!

I had it on my '99 and I didn't really like it. The front never evened out side to side - one side was quite a bit higher than the other regardless of how I re-installed the spring. You will definitely need new shocks as the 99 shocks were junk as compared to what is offered stock today. At the very least, get yourself some 01-03 shocks.

I'm not sure about a 99? But on my 02 I like it very much. I went 1-3 and it actually measures 0.75" front and 1.5" in the rear.

The ride is a slight bit firmer in the front but not much IMO. Also it's a good idea to shorten the rear end links. I just cut 2" out of them then welded it back together. that firmed up the rear from side to side away nicely.

The FRPP kit will give you the raked look. Pretty cool. Put some Bilsteins in.

Here is a pic of my 01 L w/ the FRPP 1/2 kit and 20s (295/40/20) tires next to a stock 01 L w/ 18s.

I have had the FRPP on for a while now w/ no problems. Do do expect any better ride though. More of a cosmetic change then anything.

Cosmetic look mostly, though some say the 2" drop shackles in the back will help your launching. However, it's not that expensive and looks tons better than the factory ride height IMO. here's my truck on 20's with the FRPP 1/2" drop.

Good kit for the price but strictly cosmetic.

Smile FRPP 1/2 drop

Thanks to everyone for all the feedback. I'll be ordering the FRPP kit soon. Who has best prices? ( I saw kit at BOP web site). I like the look of the 20's but I have access to a great price on some 22in Lezaro Omega's. Are they too big ( looks wise for our trucks) or should I find some good looking 20's?

I'd go with the 20's personally because with 22's you lose alot of power/performance I think...but then again HDMLNIUM ran an 12 something with his 22's on so who knows...
