Back from track

Went to sears point to race my truck for the first time today.
2002 True Blue with only a drop in K&N. I only got 2 runs. here are my times.

Temp - 89
Humidity - 30 - Punched it from idle.
R/T - .972 ( kind of nervous)
60ft - 2.028
1/4 - 13.837

Temp - 84
Humidity - 38 - Stalled at 1200 and eased into it.
R/T - .491 ( Red Light )
60ft - 2.057
1/4 - 13.781

Just thought i'd share my experience with you guys. I was expecting to be faster than that but i do have about 100 lbs of stereo equip. behind the seats. Do my times sound right to you guys?

CONGRATS Jubelands

Anytime you can do better than the Fac #'s
in 90 degree weather,
YOUR DOING GOOD

Don't worry, make a run on a 60-70 degree day,
and get those 60's down, and you got at least 3/10's-4/10's right off your ET the way it sits right now

yeah, i was hoping that the weather was the cause of my time. Just need to wait for a cooler day i guess

I should be getting my factory tech valve body by friday or monday. I'll probably get that in and go to the track again next week. Do you think that will help my times at all?

Just get your 60 foot time below 2.XXX and you will do fine. What was your MPH?

What were you expecting being stock?

My friend just got a 01 L and we took it to the track last saturday. Bone stock with a drop in K&N filter it ran 13.94 @ 99 ...the temp was 91 degrees with anout 80% humidity.
Mine BONE stock 400 miles on it in about 50 - 60 degree weather ran 13.55 @ 102
Weather makes a big difference.

Cool

Sounds right on the money to me.

In the fall when it gets cooler you'll see it pick up quite a bit. The heat kills these things.

And like those that have stated about the short time, it's all in that 60ft!

If still stock with a K&N and a FTVB? Try removing the air snorkle/rubber boot, cutting two 2"-3" holes in the bottom of the air box, removing the front sway bar, inflating the front tires to 40psi, and lowering the rears to about 27psi. That will help you to make it stick better on the stock F1s. Then in the cooler weather you'll bust a 13.5

Those are GREAT times for that weather and humidity!

You've definitely got yourself a 13.50 - .60 truck just with the K&N and some good temps.

My bone stock, 1/4 tank of gas truck ran a 13.9x@98 in 70 something degree weather, so you're doing awesome!

60 ft's are right about average for an unmodded L without slicks. As you increase mods and run faster, the 60's should drop a bit. I've seen low 1.8's on my F1s.

Great runs!

Hey Jubes, you should try to make the trip up here one Friday soon for Test and tune nights at Sacramento Raceway..the track is well prep'd usually, and almost 20 cars AT THE MAX! = tons of passes, think I got around 10 or more last time. I wanna go out Friday once I get my JLP traction bars and Dyno tuned Delta Chip in, to see if I can pull better than a 13.1 @103 on my 20's. 1.9 60ft on my Kumhos.

well i was hoping that my valve body would come in soon, and once that does i was planning to go again next week. I'm not sure whether i'm going to go to sears or sac though. I was kind of bitter that i only got two runs and they were about 2 hours apart. Way too many cars at sears point. when and where are you guys planning to go.?

My first runs at Byron last year were in the high 13s. Best I could do with a 12 inch S&B filter as the only mod was 13.85 @ 100.xx. I broke into the 100s but this was in the fall when the temps were cooler.
