Question about Nos and heat

When nitrous oxide is stored in the bottle under pressure it becomes a liquid, when you flip the switch and start pumpin in the nitrous it vaporizes and becomes a gas. But during this process that liquid/gas is absorbing heat thus cooling the engine some. My question is how much does it actually cool the engine? Is it noticeable? Is there a limit to what can be cooled? And does a bottle warmer put the bottle under pressure? How?

I think N20 is -109 degrees F when it leaves the nozzle. Don't hold me to that though. If you have last months MM&FF There are a couple of articles on N20!!!

as for cooling the engine i belive it would be neglible when comared to the better oxidazion of the fuel

a warmer is used before u race to get it to the right PSI in the tank we ran 1000psi on a 350 shot and used a propane torch to get it up there" cant forget to turn that off like a warmer"

ummm. using a open flame torch to heat up the bottle good idea.....NOT. Good way to ruin the bottle and your face when it fails, explodes f'ing up you, your ride and the poor unfortunate people around you. I will happily risk forgetting to turn it off and get a jump before I risk my safety, my truck and people around me in the pits!

Buy a warmer dude.

I have a NX bottle behind the drivers seat in my L. I have the add on bottle blanket. When you heat the bottle the heat in the bottle results in a higher vapor pressure which will result in a largewr amount of nitrous leaving the nozzel. As the solinoid opens liquid is pushed from the tank to the nozzel upon leaving the nozzel this is where the vaportization occurs ... resulting in a temperature drop similar to the operation of a refrigerant circuit. The cooling factor is not really where you gain your power.. Yes it helps but the oxidizationwith the fuel is what makes your power....
