another exhaust question

i know exhaust thread have been burned, but got a differnet one for you. I was looking at the new Magnaflow exhaust strickly for the L and also a custom setup like an X pipe and then 2 4" round Magnaflows. I know the MAG has an X in it but was wondering the the custom would sound better. I remember seeinga bunch of guys talk about it on svtlightnings. com a while back, but was before MAg came out with specific L exhaust. What do you all think would be better. thanks. sorry if alrady been asked. i looked al over before i entered this in.

I just got the Magnaflow (single muffler) system last week and love it. I have also heard the JDM Silver Bullet (twin 4" MagnaPACK mufflers) on another L, and it too sounds very sweet. They are similar, since neither have baffles, and are straight thru flow, big block sounding.

The Magnaflow system is around $150 cheaper than the JDM version, and the Magnaflow has all stainless steel components (whereas the SB is aluminized, I believe). Some of the guys on this board have had bad experiences with rusty tailpipes on the JDM's.

Here's a couple IN-CAB clips of my maggy. There are some SB clips floating around too. Hope this helps.

well i have found through fmf suppliers that i can get the 2 4inch mufflers x pipe and then i am doing custom tips for 150. then about 20 bucks for some tubing. so about 170 all together and is exactly the same as jdm's just have to do tubing myself, which is no big deal. thanks for the clips though.

If you can do the tubing yourself, then that's cool. What are you doing about the tips? Polished...chrome? I just hate the look of the stock tips, even when cleaned up real good.

The Magnapack mufflers will sound nice. I don't believe they sell the muffler separately that they use in the Magnaflow system, otherwise I might recommend that.

i am using polished aluminum tips, not a big chrome fan, especially on exhaust. I am actually doing flat cut tips kind of like nascar trucks have, same angle as the factory but falt instead of slash cut. if i dont' like i can just cut out tips and weld in slashs. i will post some pics when done. just didn't know what anybody had dynoed for there results between the magnapack and something similar to jdm or the one that razoredge has which is exactly what i am making.
