has anyone here ever heard of a F-150 7700? i saw one today the febder badges said xlt but the tailgate badge said 7700 in place of the xlt im guessing its a work truck package or something related to that because it was an 8-lug set up and had a massive rearend housing

heavier payload package on an f150 - the hub caps show 8 lugs but in fact its seven lugs, the diff is a 10.25". In 99 they still used the 4r100 with the 5.4 while the normal f150 switch from the 4r100 to the 4r70, later f150 7700's also started using the 4r70's, the were also called f250 LD when they first came out.

My truck is a 7700. It's 7 lug. Same as the old 250 LD's. Heavy duty frame, shocks, trans, rr 10.25 LS with 4.10. Plus other stuff like radiator cooler and larger brakes.
