How to remove front bumper?

I am adding remote tranny and dual oil filters (and extra coolers). The best location for the filters appears to be behind the bumper on the front body panels which run on the sides of the radiator (under the headlights).

So, to drill the holes for the mounts, I need to remove the bumper -- not the bumper cover, the bumper itself.

It looks like the bumper is held on by just 8 nuts, but I may have to remove the intercooler heat exchanger to get at the inner nuts. Anyone have any tips?

The fastest way is to drain the intercooler and remove the 4 nuts that hold the assm on[I think they are 21mm]Then disconnect the fog lites and lift off! should take about 20 minutes to get off. When you loosen the nuts the bumper will drop down due to the fact that they are in slotted holes to align same.Stan
