Squealing Brakes....HELP!!!!

I am having fits with my brakes squealing under light braking situations, in town, stop light to stop light, ect.

My truck only has 15,000 miles and the brake pads or only half worn, so they are in fairly good shape.

Is there anything I can do to stop this annoying squeal.

Thanks alot!!

Another Brake Question??

Also, I find that sometimes when I leave my house and the truck is cold....the first time I hit the brakes, its almost like they dont stop the truck, like the are slipping and you have to use extra pressure to the pedal to stop the truck.

Anyone know what might cause this. I have taken it to the local ford dealership and they seem to be stumped about it. Has anyone else had this problem??

Brakes have a 1/yr. 12,000 mile warranty dude. You're SOL. Just go get some new Hawk or napa ceramics. No squealing and less dust.

I realize that they are out of warranty but I thought maybe there was something I could do to stop the squealing.

Also, I thought that the brake slipping issue might be an ABS issue or something.

New or better pads. I'm gonna go with a set of Hawks myself.

same story here man, my brakes have been squeeling like pigs since 15k or so miles... I checked the pads and they are ample even now at 30k miles... Im going to get the napa ceramic pads, I have heard from everyone who has them that they are quiet.

Chances are the pads have glazed over from some heavy braking. Heat will cause the cheap factory pads to glaze over making them less effective. You can also pull the wheels off and spray some brake cleaner on your pads and rotors. They might have gotten some dirt in there and it's causing the brakes to squeal. Good luck.

My brake pads are totally shot. Whats the NAPA part number for the brake pads, how much, and where can I get em at the cheapest? Or where can I get em locally...

Do you use wheel cleaner or anything like that on your "dubz"?

Hawk HPS, dude.

Squealing is not an issue with mine, but the person who installed the pads used anti-squeal compound on the backing plates. Suggest you do likewise.

Where's the cheapest place to pick up a set of those Hawks HPS pads? Stan's?

I've heard good things about them. I don't mind the brake dust as long as they perform well.
