Tranny fluid change?

Has anyone done or seen a good write up on how to change our tranny fluid? Im going to install a deeper B&M pan and a FTVB this month once all the parts arrive. I guess Im going to go with the Royal Purple ATF unless you guys have a better sugestion. I dont want to pay to have this done when it looks so simple, but I could use some instructions incase the supplied ones arent good. Thanks

I'm waiting too.
Some people recommend doing a flush of the tranny to get all the old oil out.

Must be summer vacation time with this little response...I bought 16 qts of Mercon 5, undid the lower tranny cooler connection on the radiator and slid a 3/8 diameter rubber hose over the flare end of the tranny line. Got a 5 gal bucket with a lid, fed the hose thru the top. Found a large funnel with a slender neck to go in the dipstick tube, opened 4 qts and made ready to go. Started the truck in idle and started pouring. By the 12th quart, bright red fluid was going into the 5 gal bucket, so I turned the engine off and topped up. Rehooked the lines and went for a test drive. Checked again and finished. Shifted better and I felt better too! jb

I opted to do the drain & refill myself at 30,000 miles. I pulled the trans pan, r&r'd the filter. I then drained the torque convertor (my '01 has a drain plug on the convertor). I refilled and test drove and topped it off.

After a trip this weekend, I'm real close to 50,000 miles.
