Yeah, I hear ya'

That's what was promised last summer at Cecil County and I think the winners ended up getting like $500.00. (JDM wasn't putting up the money last year) It cost about $130.00 for each truck to enter.

Not me, I'm not falling for this fish hook again. The race event people didn't keep up with the truck classes Time Trial ET's on Saturday. We all had to dial in our numbers on Sunday for eliminations .

Thanks, but no thanks.

Last years things got messed up because of JLP and his so called "run whatcha brung" class....The other "bracket" class was supposed to be open comp, sponsored by Sal and PSP, but got screwed in the end...Not really Dave's fault at all...

Have fun with the 3 trucks and 4 modular cars at joilet as the BIG hitters will be at the Modular Shootout competing for the $15K purse in open comp as well as the big money in JDM's lightning class...The open comp is just called the 4.6 open comp class for naming conventions...Its OPEN to all modular powered vehicles....Plus the shootout will have Billy Glidden racing John Mihovetz in the biggest Pushrod vs Modular Match Race.....

Also, from what I remember it isn't fun going out in the first round huh?

DL,

I don't know what last year's payouts were. I know Johnny and Sal were the sponsers last year. There were practically no trucks their last year at the event. I am the sponser this year and I guarantee the $2500 payout will be given out. We already have about 35 Lighting scheduled to be their.

Hope this info helps,

Jim@JDM

I can put up last years purse page back on line if you wish. We can compare the advertised payouts to the actual payouts. Theres nothing to hide. The classes were contigent on car count. There was a minimum guaranteed payout posted online and a full payout with a full car count. Dispite there being only 3 trucks in the JL class we paid out a very decent amount for that turnout.

For Sals class I increased the purse out of my own pocket on the contigent of car count (40 trucks). After the race, I talked to Sal and John about this, dispite my better judgement I went with the Payouts they thought were fair (which by the way were much higher than I felt was fair). I did that because we wanted to be the fairest to the racers that we could possibly be.

Any money payouts that has ever been posted as guaranteed has been paid out.

As far as the classes getting screwed up, Cecil did run the open comp class wrong. They ran standard brackets, instead of open comp. I did not know about this until it was too late.

As far as this year goes, as it says in the magazine ads and website, 1st and 2nd place prize in open comp are guaranteed. Thats $15,000 to the winner, $2000 to the r/u. If you don't trust that, print this post and bring it when you win.

Well your only 40% off the actual class registration cost. Plus you could have saved more money by pre-registering before the race.

Hey Jim,

Thanks for the assurance of payout.

I didn't want to drive all that way again for a chance at almost nothing. Cecil County Mod motor shootout left a bad taste in a bunch of peoples mouths, no matter who was sponsoring each class.

I hope this event is a lot more organized. Maybe I'll give it a chance and go.

Hey Dave,

Not attacking you personally..Hopefully things are much better now...

Actually, we had close to 30 trucks in our bracket class if I remember correctly. The bracket class was very successful, and aside from the track running it on the wrong format, everyone who ran our class had a great time. The heads up class only had three trucks in it due to the poor rules. As for the payouts, what Dave said is correct. Full payout amounts were based on a certain amount of entries. I think almost all the classes were like that. Dave did his best to please all involved. Unfortunately, even though PSP is the original Mod shootout Lightning supporting vendor 4 years running, we could not do it again this year due to the date conflict with NMRA (also not Daves fault, his date was set before NMRA added the IL race).

Please email me at modular46@comcast.net as I would like to address these issues. I did not realize there was any of these issues. I thought everyone walked away happy and thought the payouts were very fair. I know the track got the open comp format wrong, but noone informed me until it was 2nd round of eliminations.

Thanks

Dave
