Looks like the "clunk" has set in.....

I know this topic has been covered a hundred times before, but I was curious if anybody had experienced it under hard braking??? I have heard it twice that way and a few times after backing out of my driveway and pulling away towards the left...It almost sounds like some type of snap sound not really a clunk...Also, do both sides do it, or is it just the left side??

Guess I know what I'll be fixing over the long Holiday weekend....That is of-course after a few of these , and a couple more coates of Zaino....

I had a similiar problem when backing up. I greased the zerk fitting on the steering linkage. No more noise......good luck!

My 03' has made the clunk when exiting my driveway turning left only since new. It happens about half the time. If it isn't going to affect anything I will ignore it. I haven't read anything about long term clunk.

Good luck!

The only clunk I had with my 03 was one of the exhaust hangers came loose and would clunk under braking only at first. then got worse and started to vibrate and clunk. Hope this helps.

Newer trucks (01 and + I believe) have grooved washers that alleviate this clunk problem a lot.
