Went to 1/8 mile on thursday.

I went to Irwindale speedway here in southern cali on thursday and ran the truck 6 times. Im not home right now so i dont know the exact numbers but i ran a 8.9 sec at 82.24 mph. Is that good for haveing filter, boost bypass mod-pulled the plug, and chip on a 2000? thanks.

Dman,

8.9 is not bad for your Mods,
YOU SHOULD BE HAPPY
CONGRATS

That equates out to a High 13
maybe a 13.6 but prob more like a 13.8 - 13.9

I dug out some old slips to give you some comparison

13 sec slips before most of my mods
1/8 ET---------------1/4 ET

8.62-----------------13.44
8.55-----------------13.35
8.50-----------------13.36
8.51-----------------13.36
8.56-----------------13.28
8.49-----------------13.19

And here's some runs with filter,chip-n-4lb pulley
8.26-----------------12.85
8.11-----------------12.85
8.25-----------------12.74
8.05-----------------12.76

And some Juice Runs
7.94-----------------12.52
7.93-----------------12.39
7.73-----------------12.25
7.69-----------------12.07
7.68-----------------12.05

The most important part of the run is the first 60ft
Get your 60ft times down to 1.8/1.9 on F-1's
and you will see much improvement.
Each 10th you take off the 60ft, will equal 2/10th's off your 1/4

CAN YOU SAY SLICKS
Then you have 1.6 - 1.7 60ft times, Imagine what that'll do for your numbers

Any day at the track is a good day
CONGRATS

I feel better Now!!!

I have a 01 and my best to date is a 8.88 @ 80mph all I have for mods are:
Magnaflow Exhaust with x-pipe
K&N drop in filter with a modded air box.

I went Yesterday(friday) and all I could run was a 9.05 @ 78mph it was 92 deg with about 79% humidity both times listed I ran a 2.0 60' time on the worn F1's I can't wait to get my 3lb pulley and see what it will do.I raced against aanother 01ha had a 4lb pulley Zex dry shot 100hp and Hossiers slicks and he ran a 8.50 80mph against my 9.0@78mph he said he just used the N2O just to get out of the hole because he was detonating on a 75hp shot so he changed it to a 100hp shot just for the start he did run a 8.30 with the 75hp shot.Oh and he was running on a unchipped stock ECU.

Your 60ft's are killing your time; that's what you MPH are so high. Also, remember a lot of people have times from cool dry air, and right now you would have to go somewhere special for find that.

thanks alot for the info guys, yea i wasnt spinning the tires at all cause they are expensive and my father wont let me buy anything else for the truck, like slicks, so thats why my 60 times are bad, and it was in the mid 90's but cooled down to the mid 80's at night.

Hey Brad, I"m assuming this was @ Lynn. I ran there last week and the best time I could turn was a 8.40 with a 2.10 60 foot time on F1's. JDM chip only so far, havent had a chance to put on my filter, pulley, intercooler fan and new plugs yet. I've got Byrons old silver L. We need to get 2gether one night when you go back to the track, were hopingh to go to Bama this weekend.

Your father won't let you buy anything else for the truck? Are we talking about your money? Your trap speed indicates that you are making decent power, but you need to hook better to get some decent e.t.s. Those Nittos will not even hook as well as F1s. Traction is everything, especially in the 1/8. Last time I ran at Irwindale my trap speeds were not much, if any, higher than yours, but I ran a 8.19 because my 60' time was 1.57. But I have 4.10 gears, traction bars, 555Rs, and a high stall converter, all stuff that helps you off the line. I'd say at very least get some d.r.s and traction bars and you will see a dramatic improvement in your 60' times and e.t.s. When my truck is back together I hope to see you at the strip and we can kick it around.
