Just a thought, what about the belt slipping?

I could not get my tires to break loose when I first purchsed my lightning used. This may sound simple, but have you replaced the fuel filter lately? After i did, you would have thought i bought a different truck. My truck is completely stock and my best time has been a 13.73

You could also try the BaL method of adjusting the boost trouble maker. I adjust it fully compressed in other words loosen the screws and push the boost canister all the way down and tighten the screws. It will snap shut quicker this way and will open a little later.

The accepted method for adjusting that thing has never made a bit of sence to me, but thats just me I guess.

Of course their were about 10 of them standing around...so I just told him that my truck isn't running right...even though I wanted to kick the sh!% out of him. "Well of course not" he said as he and his little buddies snickered.

I was told he is a regular at the track....so instead of resulting to violence which is stupid and illegal...I will find the problem, repair it and hand him his azz at the track.
Todd, did you go to SAR? I'd be happy to run the ricer dude down the track and let him get beat by a girl Could probably do it even though my truck which has gone 12.4s on street tires can't get out of the low 13's now.

Just saw your thread and I'm very curious to what is going on. I have a launching problem too. Got Hoosiers Quick Time Pro's and no wheel spin at all. Have had several people look and Jim and Shaun from JDM both have taken it down the track at FFW in Houston and nobody can do better than a 1.8 something sixty foot in my truck. I've done a 1.71 60ft with these tires back in January, but can't do better at all lately.

I just had it dyno'd and it is not down on power. 408rwhp and 498rwt with a 93 degree intake temp, however the dyno doesn't show what is going on at lower rpms. I had 410/500 back in January with a 61 degree intake temp. All i've added is a ported intake plenum since then.

I've tried all kind of launching techniques and nothing seems to help. Stalling it up to 1500 I can do a 1.88 ft. If I drive anybody else's lightning with slicks I instantly cut a low 1.7 60ft so it is not the driver this time

Just had the tranny looked over and got a new 2nd gear so most likely not tranny related.

Did have one of the rear shocks pulled and they need to be replaced, but not sure if that would cause the problem.

Also while you are checking everything out, look at your throttle body also. Make sure when the pedal is down it's open all the way. I know a few people have had that problem with other Fords.

Here is a little update for everyone. Skennett and GregS were gracious enough to take a look at my L Sunday evening.

They took her for a little spin and based on the take off they feel that it definitely needs to go back to the dealer.

We don't think that the problem is the belt slipping or the fuel filter. She only has about 3500 miles on her and she runs tough from 20 mph on.

We adjusted the actuator a couple of times but it had 0 effect. I just didn't realize how bad the problem was until GregS and Skennett took me for a ride in their trucks. All I can say is damn

Now I know mine won't run like theirs but it should react quickly just as theirs does.

I can tell you that once she is right it will be like I added a nice mod to her. That is how bad it is..no BS. I think those guys can attest to that.

GregS also noticed the intercooler isn't working. So back to the dealer she goes first chance I get.

Hey min150mph I would love to see you cook some rice...lol! Maybe when it gets a little cooler we can get some local L owners together for a night at SAR. That sounds like fun to me. Hopefully by then I will have my problem addressed.

I have never had the pleasure of talking to Sal, but if the dealer can't make it right, I may just have to take a road trip up North to meet him in person!

If the problem is identified and corrected I will definitely post the cause and solution for all to see.

I want to thank you all for the help. A special thanks to Skennett and GregS for taking time Sunday to look at my L.

Thanks Again,
Todd

Anytime Todd. I only wish we could have fixed the problem in my driveway. Get her fixed up and we will start cooking rice at SAR! Thanks again for the cooler full of beers -- I'm still working on them!

I'll keep in touch and let you know when our next meet is...

good luck at the dealership.. i'm glad you got some lightning guys to look at your truck.

did you check the fuses to see if one was out? or maybe the connector on the intercooler pump? maybe checking these will keep you from taking the truck in for warranty work.. (it's quicker too) lol

Todd,

It was good to meet you. Next time you come up to San Antonio, we will go kick ricer a$$. But, don't let the ricers get you down after all the only thing they understand is "sticker power."
