Sick of this crap. Less Boost. More Bolt-On's

Today I took a ride in a Maserati Spyder. This thing has 390 HP and was a blast to ride in. Well, the ride made me miss the way my truck feels when its running right. I have had to drive my truck like a granny ever since I got it back because of the pinging. Im sick of trying to get this thing tuned so I have decided to run less boost. Ill probably go with an interchangeable setup. Street Ill run a 2lb and track either 6 or 8lb. Since Im going to be running less boost, Ill have to compensate with more bolt ons. I think Ill go with the e-fan and either a cobra or electric pump. Then long tubes with new midpipes and highflows, throttle body, pretty much the basics. I guess the reason for my post is to ask anyone for any last suggestions to try and fix my pinging problems before I change my setup? If you dont know, the truck runs lean after 4600 no matter what the chip tells it to do and the truck always pings when the chip is in. I have had sal try to tune and I have had Byron try to tune it on the dyno with no luck. So again, before I go this route of less boost. Does anyone have any suggestions???

J15Big, have you had the compression ratio checked? That might explain the pinging at least.

I had a relative injector test, a relative compression test, and a load balance test done. All of them checked out. I was told that a real manual compression test would be a waste of time and money since the relative compression test checked out?

How about a new ECU? Sounds like you have something haywire with the computer. For $200 +/- it would be worth a try.

I'm talking about the new-fangled PCM reflashes. I guarantee you won't run lean with one of those.

whens the last ime you changed your o2 sensors????????
put a set of new 02's in it and see what happens cause if the o2's are bad it is sending the wrong info to your pcm maybe causing it to lean out on you. no matter what or how many programs you throw at it it'll keep doing the same thing.

it's going lean at 4600 rpms on all the programs you have tried????? my guess would be the 02's

have you ran any leaded race fuel or additive at all????
