Best Torque Converter for "L"

Just curious as to what type of stock converter we have in our trucks - I believe it is a 2 plate lock up?

I am having some difficulties getting a 2400 stall Converter from PI. At the point where I may have to cancel my order due to the timing, etc. Is there any other proven after market converters out there in the L community?
Do I really need the 3-plate clutch lock up mechanism for the better torque multiplication & reduced rotating mass ??

Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks,

HORSE9

Converter

I've been running a PI converter and it does a nice job, 1.63 short time and no problems after 2 years and about 75 trips down the 1320, got mine from JDM. I think all the tuners and several performance dealers have them, good luck with your decision, John H.

PI is more widley used on the boards but yanks is the ticket on the vette boards, I believe there about the same price give or take a hundred.
