958 rwhp and 783 lbs. of torque on a stock 2JZ stock bottom end!

World record setter? I don't see any performance figures, just dyno figures. Obviously he's not a racer. With that much power that's a 7 second vehicle, but there's no cage or safety equipment. He'd be booted out at any track after one run. Do you suppose he street races? I think he'd be the biggest moron in the world to do that, but who knows?

World record setter for highest hp, not runs. However you look at it thats an amazing car, the rpm meter going up to 10,000 rpm really throws me tho, not used to that at all. Looks like its in amazing condition too, owner must have really cared for his vehicle to keep it looking like that. Compliments to him or her.

The record is for the most HP on a stock 2JZ-GTE bottom end. I'm sure theres another engine or two that has achieved slightly higher results on the stock bottom end. Maybe.

958rwhp/783 ft lbs in a 3500lb car isn't even close to 7 second 1/4 mile territory. A low 9 would be much more believable.

You can tell by looking at the car the owner isn't a hardcore drag racer. With that much HP, racing from a stop on street tires is a joke.

Why have that much HP in a street car? Some people do things simply because they can...

You might as well as why people mod period? Or in fact, why race period. I mean say you mod your truck to an 11 second truck. Really no one is gonna give you a cookie for it. People like neal, hes building a really really fast 5.4 thats N/A, why do that if he could just slap an S/C on there, and he would be exactly where he is right now in terms of quarter mile times. What it all comes down to is doing what you enjoy and working on the stuff you love. Seems like this guy really loves and takes care of his vehicle, and he wanted to push his bottom end to the limit and see where he could go, and it looks like he did a really awesome job.

And who verified it was a 'Stock' bottom end?

Or another thought, maybe this was the tenth bottom end they tried

that car is sick if they aren't BS'in about it, wow, how can the stock 6'er take that much power? and why doesn't ford steal some of the technology so their motors don't launch rods at 450 hp. the cylinder head flowed 290 cfm at .385 valve lift? how? thats alot of port work

Just posted this link because a fellow Lightning member threw it to me on AIM. Thought it was pretty cool. First bottome end or tenth bottom end, if our stock rods saw that power, I bet all 8 would exit our block on the first WOT

As for posting track numbers, I doubt it is set up as a drag race vehicle.
That car is making some sick power, but there are more modded Supras out there. This is one simply holds the bragging rights for still using the same bottom end. Pretty amazing to me.

The Supra bottom ends are better built than our built bottom ends...

Dig into the literature on them, they are Beefy with a capital B.

The car is on it's original motor according to the owner.

This is his 3rd Supra, his first having 650+ rwhp and his previous white 98 which also had 900+ to the tire.

850-900rwhp seems to be about the limt of the stock 2JZ-GTE block. The stock pistons still seem to hold up, but the connecting rods and other internals give out.

It's also worth noting that the #s are SAE corrected, not STD, and that the car has 75,000 miles.

There a few other cases of upwards of 900rwhp on the stock bottom end. The most amazing case being a car with 174,000 miles and making 934rwhp. Stock block.

grinomyte,

I don't know if your post was aimed towards me or not.

But to clarify, my "Why have that much HP in a street car?" question was a rhetorical one.

I wouldn't mind owning a 1000hp car, but I would also never have a 1000hp car just to own one. It would definately see the track

Yeah it was directed at you, the way i took the post you it sounded like you were sorta slamming him for doing something as dumb as making a street car with some power to it. Sorry if i misintrepreted. Same here, that thing would be at the track in no time, but then again, its a road car, and driving around with a roll cage cant be all the much fun. Its decent in a truck, but thats one tiny car. No offence man.

I dont know why but i suddenly wanna see a roll cage in an S55, that would be funny.

And how many Lambos, Ferrari's, or the new GT40s are gonna see the track? What about the new S7? All dynoqueens I guess...

You guys are starting to sound like my parents: "Why do you need a truck that fast when the speed limit is only 65?"
