Needed something to tow the L, JUST IN CASE

This could have been another KB story, but unfortunatly it isn't.

Although I ask myself why I need another car AGAIN, I find the wear and tear on the interior to the L with all this Snow + Rain we've had over the past 6 months, harder to keep up with than the exterior of the L. I'm soooooooooo **** about my cars and although I believe in driving them 24/7 (12 months a yr) I also got to think about maintaing the new look in the L and using something else on the messy wet icky days.

BESIDES YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GONNA HAPPEN
And what better to have than something to tow with, something to drive in the snow with, and something comfortable to drive.
Has a kick *** Radio + CD, the interior is super mint, and the body is perfect and with fairly new paint. AC/Tilt/Cruise/PW/PDL/ETC... A little over 100K but those 4.0 Six's are good for double that. The 4WD works excellent and I tried it High + Low.

Problems are:
Tiny winy leak in PS hose, and the dreaded Rattling Cat
Super Mint for a 1990
talked him down and got it from Orig Owner for 2K

I like it, think I got a really good deal

Clean truck Rob. Good find! Not to rain on your parade or anything but I don't think I would feel comfortable towing a heavy beast like the Lightning with that small of a truck. If something goes wrong behind you it is gonna throw that jeep around. Not sure how that motor would like it either if ya had to climb any hills. Not trying to be negative or anything. I just would hate to see you post that something bad would happen. I myself have been in that situation before. My father was driving(towing a Turbo Buick with a Turbo Buick) One of the bolts for the weight distributing bars broke and it was all over from there. That trailer whipped us around like nothing right into a ditch. Scary stuff man. Don't take it the wrong way just want to warn you. These Lightning aren't light. Goodluck with the new truck! -Mat-

He could always lighten the truck up by takin the bumper support out, rollpan, lightweight slicks/skinnes, etc etc.....
get his truck down to 4000lbs... give the jeep a little less strain... and his truck would go faster HHEHEHE

I hear ya SVT

I didn't buy it for towing or plan on doing any at all,
I'm just saying in a pinch to drag the L home
with Low and High 4WD ranges, and that electronic tow switch it has on the dash, I'll get home.

I was once up state ny in a bad rain storm on I 87 and the guy in front of me was barrling down a long decline and some a-hole up front locked it up, that poor bastard hit the brake and went for the ride of his life with the trailer dragging him every which way. While I was watching the whole thing, and trying not to be in the middle of it.
NOT A PRETTY SIGHT.

Thanks All,
Ya I think I did good.

Ok I guess I misread. I thought you were gonna tow fulltime with it! I shall now let out a sigh of relaxation. HaHa. I am gonna start towing wherever I go. Because I know "it" is gonna happen one of these days. If you ever are in a bind and I am at the track with a trailer Rob, just ask and I would be more then glad to help ya out. You live up my way(kinda) anyways. -Mat-

Thumbs up

Good find Rob. I just brought home a 94 Grand prix with a popped motor for the same reason. (It's clean but needs a heat transplant)

WOT
