Hmm, maybe I could build an application that would allow members to submit RFP's to Supporting Vendors and allow them to "bid" privately without actually publishing a price...

That's really lame. This site has been the best tool I've ever used -for idea's, how-to's and general product knowledge. Part of that product knowledge is shopping for and knowing the best deals from your supporting vendors -to hide the Best Deal available to us, your target community sure seems to go against why I come here -and I'm sure others as well...

I've read a few posts on this mod, but I still don't know what exactly this mod is and does. Can someone please explain the purpose of this mod? Is a chip required? Is this a mod a dealer will identify by just looking at the truck?

Thanks.

1st let me say I don't have it BUT NEED IT

A Valve Body is a very easy quick install you do yourself.
When you do you also change to a larger Tranny pan THAT HAS A DRAIN PLUG (our's doesn't)
The VB will give you more positive shift, less clutch slipping,
cooler transmission temps, and mo fun on the streets
Without it, guys like me are totally looking for trouble,
don't ask why I haven't done it, cause there's no reason and it's easy, and cheap enough, and allows us to change the fluid with a simple plug plus gives us all the transmission benefits.

Ok Who did we say had the best deal

How long would it take a novice with all the right tools on hand? Oh, and a lift....

I strongly discourage the dealers from discounting the valve body, I don't like to see them try to bid against each other either, but I can't control what they charge for the pan and filter because I don't sell them, the suggested retail is $225. I have in the past sold them on E-bay to compete with the cheaper version, but I got flamed pretty good for it, so I stopped. Most of the ones on E-bay went for near retail anyhow, the $180 was the cheapest or second cheapest one went for, all the others (there were only about 5) sold for over $200.

It was never an add, at least not by my account....I wasnt asking vendors to respond, just wanted to know how much most of the regular users were paying for it...I cant help if vendors chime in
