Question Pontiac Trans Am WS6

Pontiac Trans Am WS6 (Ram Air Package)

I was wondering if some of you guys could give me your opinion about this car. I figured you guys would be the best ones to ask. I am thinking of getting a 2000 with an automatic and T-tops. How do these cars compare stock to stock with the lighting? How are they as far as reliability and what problem areas should I look for?

Thanks

Pete

A friend of mine has one identical to that. Stock for stock they're pretty close. I beat my buddy just about every time we raced when I was stock, but he can't drive.

Thank you for the help guys.

The one I am looking to buy has 42K miles and is selling for $23k. I was only able to get the dealer down to $22k. This dealer had about ten of them and said that they are becoming a rare commodity, he is buying as many as he can. It is an extremely clean car and fast as a mo fo.

I test drove a Corvette Z06 at the Gm auto show in motion last week and got the need for speed. This car is no Z06 but I bet it could hang for a bit.

Thanks again for your help.

My parents have a 2000 Trans Am with an automatic and T-tops. No WS6 package though. It pulls pretty hard, especially on the top end. I just have never really been a big GM fan The doors make a lot of racket when you shut them, the passenger side window motor died, and so did the wiper motor. The hump on the passenger side floor is a little annoying, and the dash is huge! Since the topic is the LS1 Trans Am, and since this is a Lightning board, what would win in a drag race? Stock 2001+Lightning vs stock 99+Trans Am?

Its close on the street and comes down to driver most of the time.

I own both so with me driving each one the LS1 is faster and feels faster on the street.

I raced both of them Stock at the track, the results are in my sig.

Buy it, the LS1's are very good cars. Among the best High Peformance vehicles GM ever did assemble. I had a 00 Z28 and it was a good quick car. The WS6's are a fair bit rarer than the Chevy's, so if I was lookin to buy an LS1, and knew they were extinct as they are, I would buy the Pontiac. Good Luck.

The dealer is blowing smoke up your a$$. They are a dime a dozen here, becuase nobody wants a car that is no longer in production. It took me 4 months to sell mine, low miles, flawless condition. I had it listed 3K under book. Go to trader online and see for yourself just how long they sit for.

LS1's (98 up) run great with a high stall torque convertor.
