95mm Pro-M MAF?

I bought one and have ran it for a few days. It worked fine..... for a few days. It threw a code this morning and finally wouldn't stay started. I switched back to the stock MAF and everything is fine now. I guess I'll need to have a chip burned for it; or, I'll have to just chalk it up as a bad idea. I have to say though.... It did run stronger with the Pro-M MAF. Noticeably so.

Does anybody have one on their truck that is working for them? Has Sal or JL made anybody a chip that works with the Pro-M 95mm MAF? (These are the 2 tuners whose chips I already possess.) With all the intake mods I have done, the MAF is my biggest obstruction before the blower now. If I can get it to work, I should be able to break 400 rwhp without adding more boost. I hope so anyway.

Then, of course, I'll add more boost.:o It's sad isn't it?

What kind of intake modifications have you made? From what I had heard stepping up to 95mm wasn't really worth it. Now if your SOP meter says it picked something up, then who am I to refute that. I do not have one, but I'm sure Sal or Johnny would be able to burn something for you.

I don't usually trust my backside for power increases; but, it was very noticeable. I'm sure Sal and John can help me out; but, it's the weekend and I don't want to bother them with it right now. I just wanted to see if anyone else has already done it. I also bought the remote optimizer;but, I want to get the chip right before installing it. That way I won't have to be sending off my chips for every single new mod. I'll be able to adjust the fuel with it.

Intake mods are in sig. I forgot to turn it on earlier. The JDM spacer will be added as soon as I can get one.

Who did the intake plenum for you? Did they port match it with your T/B? And, if you dont mind, how much did it cost?

I got it through LFP/BOP. It was drop shipped from Extrude Hone. It's not port matched to the T/B; but, there is no overlap. I'd have to port the T/B to get a perfect match. I don't think there's much to gain in that. I kept my stock plenum; so, I didn't benefit from the core charge. $300.00 for the Extrude Hone and brand new HD plenum. $125.00 core charge would make the price $175.00.

I read somewhere that some people where calling that spacer a "useless mod"

Be VERY careful with that Pro-95 MM Sewer Pipe. It has shown to dangerous lean out the truck. One was thrown on a truck out here not so long ago and Patrick/Willie from Diablo were unsucessful at keeping the truck from going lean.

Im guessing the code your truck threw was the lean bank code.

Have you thought about a granatelli MAFS? I am using one on my 00L with the JDM air intake and it works great. No code thrown either.

Actually, that is what I initially wanted; but, they don't come as direct replacements for the stock MAF. You have to use an open element filter with it. I don't like the looks, and feel the air from the fender well is cooler. Why they chose to do this, I don't know. The GM ones are direct replacement. I've never had any problems with the Granatelli's in the past. This is my first Pro-M. I want to keep using my Volant and the Pro-M is the only one that fits. If Granatelli had one that fit, that's what I'd have gotten. They do tend to be expensive though.

Expensive but well worth it IMHO. I have used granatelli in the past and love their MAFS. Had one in my 96 impalass and with the K&N air intake it made a huge difference.

I used a granatelli MAF when I first got the truck...the 90mm made more power. It could've been a bad unit though.
