Struck, I like your dyno testing methodology. I'll buy you one if you'll test it, lol.

I think it would be more convincing, for everyone, if you could use one of Sal's or John's customers. Or even one of JJ's Maryland croud. Your customer's can hardly be counted on to be unbiased. Most are very likeable; but, they're pretty far from being unbiased. If you can't, I guess Gator would be the next best choice.

I suppose that's a qualified "Aye!"

Here's how it came across to me.

Hi, I am a tuner trying to make a profit by investing MY money and hoping people will buy a product that I feel will help you achieve performance.

I respect Jim's entrepreneurship. He has the right to market his products how he deems fit. In this particular instance, I commend him on simply providing insight on the logic behind how his product may benefit performance, but he did not attempt to conjure up gains he has not tested. Again, I appreciate his honesty.

However, Jim is a businessman. He is not a saint.

I bought one today.
Silver_2000_! Since our two trucks dynoed the same everytime, I think that if we go again and mine dynos higher with the spacer then that should prove it.

Thanks!

Jim, thanks for the reply. Wading through the noise does turn up some nuggets.

I agree that troublemakers will make anything sound bad.

You could actually come out with a product: "This does nothing just lines my pockets, please give me money" and people would be screaming that you are a (insert derogitory comment here)

Ever since Bad as L (local for me) did his flow testing I've been meaning to get a spacer on the "can't hurt" principal. I'm just hoping for something that justifies the phenolic vs. aluminium.

Thanks for trying to be civil, looking forward to dyno/strip numbers.

And yes, I realize what is required for actual honest scientific results. I can do all the stat tricks like give you the number of runs you need to prove that the mod did it (and not noise) and the whole deal. That being said, a sample space of 3-4 dyno runs before and after on the same day should throw us a ballpark number.

With any mod,not just these................

say these spacers give you like 5 REAL hp.There are so many other variables and differences from one dyno run to another that it is almost impossible for jim to give actual hp numbers. That i can appreciate. When your dealing with such small increases,ANY kind of weather/temperatue changes could easily screw things up giving you a false reading.its easy when your getting 30hp from a chip that might only show 19hp on a horrible day but how can you really tell on a 5-10hp mod?? you really cant.Whether they work or not.......I dont know.Jim says they do.I can understand why he hasnt given any #s yet.You literally have to do like 50 pully to get true #s

Thumbs up Not a new trick, just a new application

This is a proven concept that has been around for years...while I may have a small hiccup on the pricing, the concept is sound.

This was discussed thoroughly about a year ago by several members, in conjunction with porting the upper manifold...if you can read through the whole thing, you'll have a lot of your questions answered about the effectiveness of spacers between the upper and blower...

repeatability...

if you get 5 real HP it will be very easy to see. With 400hp, my results are always within 3-4 hp on a given day. Assuming that, you only need 3-4 runs each without and with the spacer to prove 5hp is actually gained from the spacer (on the same day of course)
