Towing Question.. Please help...

Would it be possible for my 01 L to pull a UHAUL car trailer loaded with a 99 firebird? It is the "universal model" with hydraulic brakes. The tongue seems pretty heavy but I cant find its weight. Anyone ever done this? I am taking off tomorrow so quick replies would be appreciated.

You will be fine. We got guys towing their race cars with stock and modded L's. I also know a LAPD Dispatcher chick who tows a boat to Lake Havasu practically every weekend.

I have towed my 93 cobra and buddys 99 cobra with my truck with very heavy car trailer and my truck is dropped 2 inches in the back. I had to flip the reciever upside down to get the level right. I would also take a quick check of them plugs I had a few pop out while towing.

the truck can handle it. the thing I would be most worried about is the tires. I would think they are the weakest point in towing/hauling with an L

So I guess you are saying that my plugs are at risk towing... Any thing I can do quickly to prevent it? I don't have much time to work on it.

I'm sure this has been covered a lot, but I haven't been keeping up with this board much lately and I am short on time... sorry.

I tow a 10,000 # Bobcat with no problem and can still out accelerate a lot of cars at the stoplights.

NO, there not at any more risk towing than any other time, dont let the plugs worry you, some people have many miles with no problems and some have problems out the gate, u usually only hear about the bad, and these boards dont have all L's ever sold, there are alot more out there than what ya hear about, if your worried, check them just put a socket on them and make sure they are not loose..

You'll have no problems. I set the cruise at 80mph and have towed to Niagara Falls, New Jersey and all over the place locally already.

I think the Uhaul Trailers have Surge Brakes (Yuck) so you might not want to go as fast but it will pull it no problemo.

We'll see if this works...?

This is just this year on our way to Moab to wheel from Arizona.
Truck towed great, plus this trailer has axle brakes, so it makes life a whole lot easier! Actually got about 12MPG...
