looking at an 01L

Hey guys, just want to pick your brains a bit. I looked at an 01 today for 23000 with 40K on the ticker. Are there any problems that I should be aware of with this model and is there any thing that I need to look for on the truck. what is the difference between the 01 and the 03? I have an 96 cobra right now and am looking to get a Lightning. any and all comments would be apreciated.

Thanks

Depends on your budget but 40k miles is pretty high for used Ls. You may want to comb through the vehicle history extensively...

As for any differences between an 01 and 03, the 03s have 8 threads in the head whereas the 01s have only 4. The 99-02 Ls have a known spark plug issue (blowout) due to the lack of enough threads in an aluminum head coupled with incorrect torque specs.

The 03 also has a higher payload, but sits higher in the rear.

HI, I spent 13 months in Phoenix. At 40K with the heat down there it's got to be tired.

I would presonaly keep looking around. I paid $26000 for my used 01 in 2002 with 12,000miles on it. At 40,000miles that truck had to be driven every where and driven hard. Keep looking you will find what you want. Good luck

Yeah, keep looking. 40K on an 01 means it was driven and you can't drive these trucks easy

Hey before you buy If your interested in traveling a little bit. I have an 02 with less than 8000 miles on it. I need a little more than 23000, but not too much. qwikpny@sbcglobal.net
