Ford Reaches NEW low in customer service
You make a lot of good sense wydopnthrtl
And very prodly I can say I've done EVERY ENTIRE MOD on my truck, along with the oil changes, filters, belts, etc...
My L has NEVER been in another mans hand AND IT NEVER WILL (unless Motor goes boom of course)
As for Ford, come on loosing up, have some fun with it, if it wasn't Ford, it would be someone else we'd be picking on. They did this to themselves, you got to admitt they dropped the ball here and turned their backs on many KNOWN issues for many yrs on this particular model. Beside's I love bashing them, the funny part is my plan is to trade in the Lightning eventually for a Cobra
Convertible like I gave up to get the L.
I also had (3) 5.0's (GT, LX, + Pace Car) pryor to that.
You know what they say, keep your friends close,
and your enemys CLOSER
This is nothing,
You should here the way I talk about my Mother

I have to totally agree.....Here's a point of view you Lightning guys may want to consider:
Say you sell your truck to some guy you don't know. You got paid, he got a sweet truck, everybody is happy, right? Now 2 weeks later, he comes back and says, "hey man, you sold me a piece of crap....I put this chip in or i put this pulley in, and now I've thrown a plug"....
Nine out of ten times, you guys are gonna say...."Sorry bout your luck man, you screwed it up by putting aftermarket parts on it and now it's caused this to happen" And I'm pretty sure that is how the scenario will go.
You Lightning owners have this beautiful, fast, appealing truck that turns heads and has anyone without one wishing they could have one. 380 HP STOCK!!! But you want more horsepower. A very very common thing. I'd probably be the same way if I had one.
But the difference I guess between me and someone else is, I totally take responsibility if I change the makeup of the truck. Some of you all complain that the Customer Service is low and that no one will help you out or give you a new engine because you added....Chip, pulley, air mass mod, better intake......i mean, WTF? It's people like this that try to manipulate Ford or Chevy or whoever to get free engines or warranty work knowing well you were the cause of it having to be worked on. People like this has much of a hand in the reason why Ford is doing what they are doing. Cutting jobs, cutting pay, no profit sharing, no match in 401K, Closing plants.
Remember guys, I'm a Ford owner as well. But no one forced me to buy it. I made a choice, and that's that. Saying goes: "u made your bed, now you gotta lie it" or "you play, you pay"
If some dummy like me can accept and realize this, I'm sure you smarter people out there can also do it.
It just baffles me to see this kind of bashing because someone wanted to have some fun and mod the hell out of their truck and something goes wrong, and now it's ALL FORD's FAULT......total B/S if you ask me.....my $.02.....now I guess I'll get bashed for this post.......

I apologise for expressing my opinion.
I am clearly to simple minded to understand the big picture.
I wasnt talking about my truck. My warranty is long gone.
The truck in question was like Jerry Jordans. Almost new. The Chip had NOTHING to do with the issue at hand. I dont expect Ford to cover the blown engines from too much boost.
I was just simply asking that they determine the problem before voiding the warranty for an unrelated issue.
To use an example - Should a typical buyer of ANY car expect to check the tighteness of his sparkplugs at 4000 miles ? Ford ( and some of you ) clearly expect that of a Lightning owner. And if the plugs are loose from the factory and you have a Superchip installed, the chip is to blame....
That example is what pissed me off.
My simple mind I thought the sharing of information was the point here.... Oops....
