2.7 Upper Pulley-No gain????

Hi guys,
Last night I installed a 2.7 upper pulley on my near stock Lightning. (filter and SPTB). My boost on my autometer gauge prior to the install indicated a solid 10lbs. After the install, I'm experiencing more torque at lower RPM's and my boost gauge climbs more quickly but my peak boost still peaks at 10lbs. The expected gain using the 2.7 pulley is 2.5-3lbs. Am I experiencing belt slipage? I looked under the hood and I don't smell any burning.

If this is belt slipage, should I:

1-Replace the stock belt (20K of wear) with a Good Year Gatorback # 4080660 (stock size)

2-To get more tension, use a 3/4 shorter Gatorback #4080652, which would require breaking the stop on the tensioner. This would add load on the belt and blower front bearings.

As usual, your comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dion

I d/k about the 'size' but a G/Y Gatorback belt would be helpful.

You might need the new, Metco Idler kit too?
