Installing Electric Water Temp Gauge

Were is a good place to tap off in the block to get water temp for the Phantom series (5737), Water Temperature 100°-250°F gauge 2 1/16 in. diameter, electrical?

The plug in the lower block area near the oil filter is out since I have my electric fan sensor there.

For those who have one what did you do?

Suggestion?

coolant line

i tapped into the coolant line comming from the top of the engine going to the fire wall for the heater core. Look under my photo gallery, there is an illustration on how I did it.

Very accurate readings as well. Good luck

Thanks another idea.... Did you buy another thermostat housing and use that or the one on the engine?

I would rather buy an additional housing in case I screw up drilling a hole. Been there and done that on other projects.

I did but only found a couple picture pictures of you and your truck. Surely I can't be doing it incorrect

Yep, bought a new housing and tapped it in lieu of the one on the engine.

Honestly I don't mess with anything in the picture gallery.

Appreciate your help and now have to ponder over which way to go.

I found out today the sender for the temp gauge (idiot light) we have is located on back of the engine under the manifold. It would be easier to pull the engine or remove the cab to get to it.

Not a good option
