Nice show of Power last night
My Brother's in from Florida with his Family to visit and was Loving my Lightning (first time seeing one up close) He's an re-tired Motor Head, he was into the oldies 32 Duce, 39 Ford, old GTO's, 57's etc... So anyway after showing him everything he says take my two boys for a ride but take it easy. Then he says but you can smoke um. I put my two nephews in the L (ones like 16, and one 14) we back out of my Dads Driveway put it in Drive and I stomp it straight to the floor. Smoked the Living schitt out of them straight through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for what looked like a good 1/8 of a mile of rubber on the road. Dam I wish I had my camera to get the picture of the street. Then I pull a u-turn and gave him a smal one rolling out of a stop sign and did a quick 0-80 blast. We pull back in the Driveway and my Nephew is staring at the marks and says, hey how come the marks are going so crooked all the way down the road.
I said because we were sideways most of the time

I did the same thing, except it was with the VERY
attractive lady across the street. When I nailed it
with her and her friend in the seat, there was a hand
grabbing my leg in complete astonishment. <grin>
I, of course, was not astonished and quite enjoyed the ride!!!
WTG ROB !!!!

The "egg donor" and my daughter where up in Jersey a couple years ago (1999). So I took Lauren to Dairy Queen in my 99 Lightning for an ice cream. I asked her if she knew what a burn-out was? She replied that she didn't, so I took her to Paramaus Mall on a sunny Sunday afternoon, and to show her what happens to F-1's with a dose of torque.
After a couple burn-outs I asked her if she would like to try doing one. Now, she was like 9 years old at the time. So I put her behind the wheel, with me sitting right next to her. Let her hold the brakes while putting some heat in those worn Goodyears. With smoke boiling into the cab, she floors the gas and starts giggling
Now, I tell her, this is between you and me. Mom doesn't need to hear anything about this, right? She agrees.........
Later that night, we go to the Outback for dinner, and guess what Lauren has to say? Yep, all the details.......
Her mom, still brings that up when telling me what an a$$hole Iam

Cool Rob.
Man this brings back memories of my first real "ride". I was 16 and my friends dad had a absolutly beautiful 69 *396* chevelle with about 7 coats of hand rubbed laq. Looked like a show car inside and out. Except it really had a BP & Bal. "707 hp" 0.060 over 454, solid lift cam, idled at about 1500 rpms, 12:1 compression, 4.56 gears, ladder bars, and a 4 speed. Holy cow! That thing was just spitting & snarling out the exhaust pipes just idling in the driveway! I was totally in love even before we went out for "the ride that got me hooked".
First, second, and most of third gear was pointless. He just kinda took off in first and spun like my old 5.0L/5 speed stang used to in the rain. Second pulled but still spun. When he got into third he just feathered it up to about 4,000 rpms and held it there til the tires came to a ever slowing howl and then hooked. Just as that's happening he looks and me and says "here we go". he stomps it and the front end felt like it rose about 2ft. then in fourth gear he did a full throttle on power shift which firmly planted my butt into the bench seat. That thing pulled as hard in 4th gear as my Lightning does in first. Up around 120mph that car was spooky with how it wallered around on the dips in the road. But dang I'll never forget that "ride". Been hooked on this "need for speed" ever since.

All these stories are kicking back the memorys for me too,
The First Death Ride I had was in my Neighbors 429 Super Cobra Jet, ONE TO REMEMBER Man that thing flew, It inspired me to get a 70 Torino GT with a McBetts build 351 Clev, Dana Rear, the hole nine, man I use to drop driveshafts every Fri night with that thing.
Ya the Kids were a little dazed when we got back, my Brother was hugging them and one was saying, Dad thats the fastest production truck on the planet you know. My Sister-in-law wasn't too happy since they were all on the back deck and heard it

But your all right, they'll remember it for life.
And to think I was worried I didn't buy them any gifts after not seeing them for like 5 yrs
