You're killing me. One of those I could use, but there's that magic number again.

The JL version looks to have better brackets than the JDM. By this I mean the brackets of the JL cooler go under the cooler to support it. The JDM bracket is welded top the top of the cooler. I suspect after many miles this could fatigue and break easier than the JL version. My JDM version is still in great working condition and I have 9K miles since it was installed. The JDM looks bigger, but that could be the photo. Mini cooper says smaller is better, but I don't know if that is true in this case or if the JL cooler is smaller than the JDM cooler.

I am sure they are both great heat exchangers

Now you can go with what ever supplier you feel more comfortable with and know you will get a great product.

I want to do this mod, but I'd like to know what kind of testing went into the design. The effectiveness of the heat excahnger is composed of the cooling surface area provided by the heat exhanger, the flow rate of the intercooler fluid, and air flow across the heat exchanger and the heat conductivity of the metal, among others. They are all interrelated variables and the optimum solution isn't necessarily bigger...

Can we get a little more data on the design of both units and some expected performance numbers from the units?

Thanks
