on stock eaton is there an advantage on changing impellers

the impellers on the cobras are graphite and when in the blower they touch when new and wear to provide a better seal which in theroy will equal more efficentcy and more boost, theyre selling the graphite impellers on ebay, just wondering if anyone has done this mod and was there a diffrence?

Just like a small percentage of everything in the motorsports parts industry that claim 10, 12, 20hp until you buy it and install it, then you dyno it and realize that it didnt make any more HP.....

You may want to get the graphite rotor packs just for peace of mind knowing that teflon won't flake off and end up in your IC.

Hey

I just asked on Nloc.

I think changing the impellers would do a little something.

But what about changing the entire rotor pack....
I think you can get something other than a graphite impellers in there. I'm just not sure what...

I've seen it posted a few times those..

Specifically:
"if they claim they are pushing a lot of boost, have them open up the S/C and inspect the rotor packs, I bet they aren't stock"

(Not verbatim)

Good luck finding out.

This subject has come up a few times and the only info ever posted was about the graphite rotor packs.

i called magnuson, they said no one makes any other rotor packs and most of the 02'03'and the 04 have graphite rotors anyways. no power to be made, just less maintain.

I got the graphite rotors in my polished blower along with the 4 sealed holes on tyhe bottom of the blower. My truck has no boost lag anymore and the boost gauge slams back and forth like crazy.

With a 2lb lower I get 11lbs of boost on my AutoMeter Boost Gauge!

My Boost gauge is slowly uncalibrating itself because the needle in the gauge is slamming back and forth so hard its slipping on the shaft. It's already a 1/2lb off in a week.

How can you find out if your 02 has the graphite ones or the teflon ones? Is this like the 03 heads where only the later-built ones have them? Just want to see if I can find out without actually having to take the blower apart...

The way to tell the difference is, the graphite rotors will look black and the teflon rotors will look gray.
