Ceramic Coating EGR Valve?
Ceramic Coating EGR Valve?
I am wrapping up my polished blower project and want to smooth my new EGR valve and get it ceramic coated so it looks good next to the blower.
Can I do this without hurting the internals? Whould powdercoating be better?

It's hard to say on this one. Since the EGR does have soft parts in it, I would normally say that any coating process that's exposed to a high heat cure like ceramic or powdercoating, shouldn't be done. The EGR does see high temps, but the diaphram really doesn't see those temps. I think I would suggest smoothing the casting, and using a high temp paint of your choice (like from Eastwood) instead of coating it.
TampaBlack99,
I am designing a polished billet aluminum cover for the top of the EGR. It will be finished soon. I'm going to clean and paint the cast portion of mine with high temperature paint and cover the top with the billet cover, that would look good on yours too, I think.
