We need to have someone make us brakes that are pretty close to the same size for us drag racers that will stop allot better and reduce the fade aswell.

brembo's are nice but then you can't even fit a 16 inch wheel on front, screw that.
Maybe Wilwoods?

Thanks All

Sounds like it's worth changing them now.
Napa ceramix seems to be everyones choice, I assume you buy them from a Napa Automitive Store, (that would make sence)
There may still be one of them around, I'll have to keep my eye out, it seems Auto Zone has made there mark around here lately and shut down all the US-1's, Aids, and the small name-less places.
BTW,
I know about the wear down piece SVT KY, but I thought our stock brakes would be good for at least 30-50K. I guess not hu ?

Any special tools needed or the usual allan key socket, a set of clamps to open them up, etc ???

Anyone on line sell them ???

BTW
Good One Gator

Just hit 12K late last week (2 weeks of long travels on the L) and mine just started to squeek also. Guess I'll try the NAPAs, too.

I did get a little to close to the sand (went to the Gulf coast week ago Friday). Squeaking started soon after that.

Any of you FL or CA guys that live close to the coast have any advice on making sure I've "de-sanded" as well as possible?

Thanks,
Rip

I installed new front pads last week. I used the Raybestos QS ceramic pads, part # PGD702QS. I should have put these pads on a long time ago there is almost no dust. I no longer have the brake squeal which I hated. I had about 23K miles on the front stock rotors and pads. I also notice my rotors have small cracks in them. I have some brembo replacement rotors for the front. I have rotors and QS pads(#PGD711QS) for the rear also. I need to find time to install all of this stuff.

Rob,

You will need a T-45 Torq to remove the pads ...

Don't use a cheapo one, or you will be buying the
new bolts in your Honda ... <Ask me how I know that!?>

Cliff

Easter ...

What's possible on the back brakes given that the emergency brake
is there? Can we just disconnect and put a set of REAL brakes
on there? Then we need a differential braking system .. <grin>

Ask skelton about the rear brakes. He probably has done some research on it. Most of the braking is done in the front anyway and the stock system gets it done for what I need.

Raybestos QS ceramic pads = NAPA Ceramix

same pad, just oem'd.

Cliff -- other then rotor swaps to brembo slotted/drilled or RUSlow's slotted stuff, the only thing I've come across is AP-Engineering/Stillen just came out with a rear calliper kit.

RipNRun-

I live a block off the water and have had no sand problems. I've got 47k on my truck and still have 50% left on stock pads. My cummute is 80 miles one way every day. But only maybe 5 of those miles is stop and go. No road course running and not heavy track use.

Cali L,

Thx for the reply. I spent most of yesterday washing her down just in case. Squeaking seems to have stopped.

I think I may have had some sand probs. Almost getting stuck on the beach didn't help. Sometimes all that torque can backfire on you, esp if you lose your temper and punch it while deep in the sand

Rob...I just replaced mine at 13k miles. The brake pads had more than half life left and I have a heavy foot. Just upgrade to the napa ceramics and bye bye squeal.
