What do I need to hit 12s with a 2lb pulley???

Hey guys, I got a 2lb pulley from Sal awhile ago, and its great and i love it etc etc etc...(I got a 2lber at the time from the fear of crappy 91 octane gas)
And I also have a chip and filter kit from sal as well....now the question is, what else would i need to Consistently hit 12s at the track? Im getting my chip dyno tuned and I know I could probably hit 12s if I had perfect weather, track conditions, launch, naked girls watching me stage etc...
But to get CONSISTENT 12s, what would I need to get? Or at least where should I start?
Thanks fellas

PS- Or is it just worth it to get a 4lber and get THAT dyno tuned instead??

4# w/DYNO tune.

This is actually my goal too. Consistant 12s.

For example this last fri I ran consistant 12.8s on my 26.5" ET streets (hot motor).

All of those suggestions will work. However, I believe that your "safety net" for 91 octane gas lies in your chip's tune and not in whether you run a 4 lb. or 2 lb.. I know my chip is burned for 91 octane on the street side (even though I run 93 always), just in case I run into some bad gas.

Hope this helps.

12.3 at 111 with only a #2 pulley.

I know he has most of the usual mods; Long tubes, slicks, tbars etc.

Pulley

Go with a 4# pulley and a chip tuned for it and you will be were you want to be, ive had my 4# pulley on my truck over 10.000 miles with no problems at all.

Larry.

In my opinion traction bars and a set of slicks or Nittos. A full exhaust would help as would a fan kit and waterpump but traction should get you there. Todd

Your Choice,

Spend 5 thousand on mod's
"or"
$100.00 and change on a 4lb pulley

Not such a hard decision

@500.00 for a fan
@100.00 for a pump
@500.00 for a T/b
@2000.00 for GOOD headers + Cat Back
@500.00 on slicks and skinnys
@500.00 on cheap rims for both
@500.00 for Cool Tank
@500.00 for Traction Bars
------------
5100.00

Now get them installed and you can add a good thousand I'm sure. it would be cheaper to buy a Short Block

OR A 4LB PULLEY

Perfect traction and a corrected altitude of about -200 feet below sea level.

I've been able to coax 13.11 @ 105 out of my truck with a chip, 80mm ProM and a 2 lb pulley.

If SouthJersey ran 111 mph, with a 2lb. pulley, I'll eat the dancing bananna. There is something else he's not showing. Like maybe a 75 shot!

For consistant 12's you are most definately going to have to get slicks and traction bars. Especially if you up the pulley to a 4lb'er, all it takes is a little to hard on the go pedal and your 60' time is all spinning tires and that 12 second run disappears.

With a mild street chip, 2lb'er, blower/plenum porting and LT's I have run 12.7x and 12.8x many times right off the street with no prep. If traction is bad or I launch bad, I'm up to the 13's

Normal bolt-ons, weight reduction, traction bars & slicks. Not sure if that was his correct mph though ?

Looks like ill be going with the 4lber...hmmm lets seee...
so I guess I need to send my chip back to sal for a re-burn as well to compensate for the 4lber...
then ill get it dyno tuned at the local place here (apex motorsports) and i should have my 12s

Oh BTW, i already have Nitto 555Rs and bassani catback, forgot to mention that hehe

Personaly Id rather run all that with a #2 pulley than a #4 pulley.

Numerous ways to get in the 12's. This is one.

BTW, those are some hiked up prices for them mods, can be had wayyyy cheaper if you look around and junk. Whats a cool tank??

Talking

You should be able to hit the 12's no problemo with the 2lber and the chip and filter..

I've run consistent 13.1-13.2's @105mph-106mph with just Sal's street chip and filter kit...I think I got a ringer though

The 6lber is going on soon though hehehe
