horrible 60'
horrible 60'
OK I have Nitto 555's and at the track have the pressure dropped to 19lbs. I really don't spin, but my 60' is 2.4, but I am running 8.87's in the 1/8. I am launching around 1500 rpms and everyone seems to say that it looks like it rolls off the line before it gets moving, almost as if it has "turbo lag" What am I doing wrong?

If you have a stock Convertor, DO NOT power brake or stall it.
After the Burnout,
Roll up, stage in, OD OFF, Shifter In Drive, FOOT ON THE BRAKES.
DO NOT TOUCH THE GAS PEDAL.
When it's time to go, stomp it ALL AT ONCE TO THE FLOOR
That does what they call "Flashes it"
Thats the only way to launch on a stock convertor.
Unless your having MAJOR wheel spin then you'll have no choice but to roll into it, but you shouldn't have to.
I got 1.8's and 1.9's EVERY TIME with stock F-1's that way for an entire race season.
BTW
Great 1/8 times
You got a fast one there

On my ET streets THE BEST 60 fts come from "flashing the converter" just like Rob has stated. I've tried it every other way to no avail.
1) warm them up a little
2) NO THROTTLE during the tree.
3) Then on the last yellow STOMP IT!
When I do this I get no wheel spin and my best 60 fts everytime.
WOT

I appreciate the help. I should be able to try it out this Thursday if I get done moving, and the wife doesn't complain to much about leaving her at home thursday, and being out of town all weekend for a show. Thanks again.

Well Rob, you just answered my ?, I too have the drag radials w/track bars, but my 60' time is no better than 2.1 (tried everything from heating those bad boys up to not, to launching at 1000 to 1500rpms & everything inbetween).
Thanks for the tip, need to get below 2.0

You need traction bars. Seen some dude, wont mention names, nail a 1.6 60 with rancho bars with nitto's dr's last thur night. Its sick. Best ive hit was 1.7 and 1.8's.. Im going to rancho bars now to lower my 60's, slappers just arent cutting it.
Thanks for saving me the trial&error - wasting runs on learning the hard way
So who sells Rancho bars at a good price? Sounds like a good fathers day present- Ill get DR's later, since my tires are in real good shape.
Is there alot of compromise in ride w/ranchos on the street? The truck rides so nice now, hate to screw it up, but traction is a must.
