Question about elevation and racing

At what point does elevation start to affect your ET? Is there a cetain elevation where you can start to notice or is it a gradual thing?

At 5500 feet most people say it adds 1 second to a 1/4 mile time in the 12-15 sec range. Yes it is gradual thing.

Elevation...

A good rule of thumb is that for every 1000ft of elevation you can expect a 3-5% loss in hp....Probably slightly less with forced induction, but you get the idea.....

soooo, would it be safe to say that at around 1100-2000 feet I could expect a little slower times than if I were at say <500?

Yes that would be safe to say....A perfect example...I live at just about sea-level here in jersey...I have a house in the Poconos, and depending on where I am in the area, roughly 1500 to 2000 ft above sea level, I feel a defenite looss of power from my truck...
