Thumbs up Just got my truck! BOOST PROBLEM!

well, i finally got my truck! 2000 model Silver! only 10K miles, it has a volant cold air intake, a 2psi pulley, and a chip (not sure which one) also has bed cover, a hood scoop, and a remoe start/security system!

But ive noticed a problem! the truck will run lik hell through 1st gear, and as soon as i hit 2nd the boost cuts in half! still at WOT! someone suggested a bost bypass! anyone else have this problem??

I agree with spankdog, the boost is dumping. Purchase a boost bypass mod or make one and the problem should clear. FYI- I bought JDM's but all the tuner sell a kit, and I'm sure someone one the boards can give you a parts list required to make it.

Just unplug the electrical connector. Save yourself the money and the hassle.

Just unplug the boost dump solenoid. It is located on the drivers side of the blower, right behind the EGR tube. It's a black cylinder shaped device, with two vacuum lines going to the bottom, one to the top, and a two wire electrical plug. About 6 inches down on the harness, it has a silver sticker that says SCB on it (so you know you have the right one). Just unplug the electrical connector and you will no longer have the boost dump problem. Cost if free, can't beat that . Hope this helps.

Read the link/thread in my earlier post(in this thread). Read Lightningtuner's post there. He explains it all.

Btw, thanks Odin's Wrath. You got it.........
