who wants an upgraded alternator?

I'm curious how many of you guys would like to upgrade your alternators on your trucks to a 200 amp version?

I was looking on my other site and found this guy that custom builds them and while I haven't found out what he charges yet I know its under 200 bucks each for them and I'm going to ask him if he'll go cheaper if we get a bunch of guys to buy them.

So who would want one?

I'm doing one way or another but I just figured that we could all benefit and save some cash for other mods! I know my 1 10 is going to need 2500 watts at 2ohms so I need to get enogh power on reserve for that little 47 pound monster, HEHEHEHE.

No I don't think it is Mr. Alternator. I think he charges 200 each and uses beefed up internals with a stock casing.

Joe: just make sure the custom-built ones use casings that will cause no clearance issues. I am in.

well this guy can have them chromed also but I'm sure its going to cost more. he can also powder coat them for us. I'm going the powder coated route under my hood.

the guys I talk to for my stereo site directed me to him. allot of them use him.

not sure yet, but I would think 150 to 175 would be possible if we get like 20 to 30 people you know. he charges 200 now.

I don't think his setup affects the alt at all. The only reason I would get one of these really is if you have a system in your truck and you lights dim you know.

I'm running a little over 4000 watts of juice and 240 amps so my alternator is getting juiced! I do have the two optimas that help but its not enough, hopefully a 200 amper will help me allot. I do need a new battery setup though and thats coming soon too.

I don't know what color I'm going to do yet. Maybe blue I was thinking too for some ford color under the hood.

See if he can do a 250 amp or so. I know you and I could both use a bigger alternator, Joe. I might be in as well. My capacitor aint doin junk.

2 things
1) if you run an under drive pulley on the Alternator you are slowing down the alternator and essentially preventing it from putting out its max at a certain rpm. You guys with Big stereos should likley NOT install a underdrive on the alt....

2) RT - Before thgis gets out of hand send Steve an email to stay on the right side of the group purchase policy

Thanks in advance
