possible to run no2 on single prog. chip?

I was wondering if this is possible. I really don't want a 2 program chip after i just purchased a single program that can be re-burned. Talked to a friend that said he looked in getting his computer flashed. He said this guy programs computers for Ford engine management. Also, can flash it for a 4 or 6lb pulley and a 7d shot of no2. The computer will actually adjust fuel automatically if it senses an imbalance instead of a chip doing it off a pre-set program. plus i'm sure you can get the same benefits from it just like a chip

"they expand the computers functions to the point that the computer can compensate for readings form the air mass meter and the o2 sensors at WOT. So when the computer sees that more air in being forced into the engine and that the o2's are reading lean it will add more fuel.explained it as giving the computer the ability to control the air/fuel ratio and timing at WOT instead of going by set WOT programming."

what do you guys think? I much rather just get a re-burn though if possible.

I think Mark@BOP can do similar things with re-flashing PCMs so you may want to give him a call.

As for the single program with nitrous, you can do it depending on what shot you run. I think most of the nitrous programs people run are just regular mild street programs with maybe a couple of degrees of timing pulled and some fuel tables tweaking. However, I've also heard that with a wet kit you generally don't need to add more fuel via chip...dunno about still having to pull timing though.

I think the rule of thumb is to run a very mild program on the spray and that's why many choose a multi-program chip. That way they can run a more agressive program on the street off the bottle, and when they squeeze they can switch to a nitrous program.

I'm sure someone like Sal would be able to answer your questions more thoroughly though. Good luck!

No problemo. Don't quote me on that stuff though. I don't want you going out to hook up your bottle right now and squeeze a 100 shot and flood my email with complaints about rod shootings tomorrow morning

I would also give Rob_02Lightning a shout. He seems to be enjoying his Zex kit...

Sorry Nate I didn't answer that one in my e-mail

I wouldn't but YES you can

After my last 9 R+D runs, I've come to realize the perfect Nitrous Tune for me is
@16 Degrees of timing
A lower shift point @5250 RPM (my gas side is 5500RPM)
A Super High Rev limiter @6000 RPM (you never want to hit it)
A Super Rich A/F
And I'm sure Johnny did other magical things
with Tip In, shifting, etc

So after all these tunes I ended up pretty much where I started
That above Nitrous Program is perfect for my daily driving because it's great for looooooong WOT Blast, a little less stressful on the motor with shorter shift point (than my gas race program)
Since it has a nice super rich A/F it's plenty safe
and due to it's timing, it runs perfect on pump gas.

But if you plan on continuing your ALL GAS RUNS at the track (like me) you'll eventually wan't more timing, a higher shift point, and a little leaner to get better ET.
My All Gas side is the same as above except:
5500 Shift points
and 18 Degrees of Timing
And a little Leaner

I believe he's from FL.

Rob: So your rev limiter is at 6k and your shift point is at 5250? I thought at WOT, you were hitting your shift point which is the same as your "rev limiter?"

Or do you mean fuel cutoff?

Rev Limiter / Fuel Shut off (same thing)

Whats been happening with mine if you remember is with my old 2 programs the Nitrous Side was waaaaaaaaaay toooooo loooow of timing so I had to make all my Nitrous Runs on the Gas Side.
On that Program the shift points were 5500 RPM but for whatever reason mine always goes past it, and YES sometimes all the way up to pining the Tach at 6000 RPM. Yet I never ever hit the limiter ??? The weird part is I've always had that problem since day one with all 10 programs and the differant Chips from the Differant tuners I've used.

Sometimes it shifts where it suppose too, and sometimes it doesn't. Seeing 6k with the Juice is a bit much for my safety levels so Johhny did some other stuff this time with the shift points, at least if feels like he did. if this rain ever stops I'll get to the track and see what happens.
All it took was one program to hit the limiter a yr ago and I immediatly said that will never happen again, so now I insist on hi hi limiter settings.

hrmmm...wonder if i read this post. me and mark at BOP have been talking. Can you say never have a chip or re-burn again, no matter weather, and mods. I think some make a difference. Suppose to have alot greater gains too.
