Overdrive

What is the advantage of turning your overdrive off??

I turn my o/d off when driving under 40 mph. I have 'cold' plugs and they misfire(mildly) at low rpms plus, I like the reponsivness of third gear around town.

Btw, I still get 14+ mpg .

If I'm putting around town I also turn OD off. If not I'll be in 4th gear at 40 mph and every time I step on the gas it takes longer to accelerate. I also have gutted cats and the truck accelerates better with OD off.
