front brakes.. $89 from dealer ?

I just got my L a little while ago, put it in the shop for the first time, for 60k mile maintenance..

they just called me and said it needs new front brakes. $89

i told him to hold off, that seemed a bit high, 'ought i take it elsewhere like goodyear for a better deal, or let the svt dealership do it ?

Just pads? Installed? That's a deal .. my pads are $68 OTC
before, now the Brembo's are like $120 ...

Added plus ... if your rotor needs turning, they do it on the vehicle
at the Ford Garage..... The recommended procedure for our trucks....

That is hella Cheap. I bought my own 'lifetime warranty brakes', and just had htem do labor. I was charged about 120$. They also replaced a seal somewhere as well, but either way, 89$ is cheap for parts and labor? (Yes, I'm aware 120$ is high <g>.. i wont take it there again...)

What are they doing for you exactly? New brakes as in new complete brake assemblies? Or resurfacing the rotors? Or just changing the pads?

If you don't like dust you should look into getting Raybestos quiet stop ceramic pads or the napa ceramix pads. I have the Raybestos front pads as of last week they stop well, are quiet and best of all hardly any dust.

for 89$ that must just be pad slapping.

it usually costs 240+ at my shop to turn the rotors and install new pads.

plus you can get Hawk front pads from ruslow for 55$ or so, they dust pretty bad, but not as much brake fade
