no where else to go on mods?
no where else to go on mods?
I don't really have anywhere else to go for mods. I need a power stack filter kit, but all the dyno numbers i have seen don't impress me much to spend that kind of money, plus I'm looking for big gains. I don't have the money for a built block (yet) and i think my truck might have a lower end package. I don't want a bigger pulley cause i'm afraid to blow her on a top end run, so i'm thinking about going on the bottle. Anything i should know? wet or dry kit? I like the zex system too. I was wondering if just buying one of those kits from REM is all i need, or do i have to spend more on accesaries? My tuner said he would install a complete NX kit for 1,300, but still thats alot of money. thinking about running a 75 shot. Any comments? I also need dyno tuning but there isn't anyone around texas that can do it. I have a single program JDM superchip with the street program. One tuner told me that you can't dyno tune a superchip?
His motor might have been pulled by the previous owner.
Nate: time for LTs? If you plan on going further with your truck down the road you will see more gains...
edit: also, don't forget about other things like suspension, traction, stereo, etc.

i bought it used and terry from performance research looked my truck over when i was getting work done and said the motor has been taken out and the wiring harness to computer was tapped and look like a 2nd computer was hooked up. So i call it the mystery motor, cause don't know whats in it. doesnt have any build dates, has a couple scratches on the oil pan, few different screws here in there. I started another thread yesterday, been trying to track down to see what has been done to my truck.

long tubes are on my list but i'm going to get them when i have a motor. I'm keeping my suspension. as far as traction, i'm buying Ruslow's battery relocator kit and getting some nitto dr's. So on the HP side, thinking the bottle might be the most effective way to go for the price and use whatever is in my motor or not to its full advantage
I'm considering the Zex kit... but was wondering if the kit listed on REM's website has all i need or if i need alot of accesaries?
edit:
and bling is last on my list. the truck will remain to look stock. thought about some ss mirrors down the road and maybe a billet grill powder coated the stock factory grill grey. it's lowered. the truck handles good enough for what i use it for. suspension is last on the list.

cheapest one of those i found are 150 and add about 3 - 5hp.zex dry shot kit is $475 and adds 75 hp
. So, do i need a dry shot or wet...or do i just need to look it up...hehe. I'm wondering, can you use nitrous with a single program chip? i really don't want a multi program chip.

Long Tubes are a great mod.
Also, electric water pump and some kind of ignition enhancer like plasma booster or MSD.
My gas mileage went up with each of those mods.
Extrude honed can also help.
If your worried about blowing it up with a bigger pulley, then no way should you feel comfortable with a 75 shot of nitrous. that 75 shot is 3-4 times the difference from a 4 to 6 lb lower.

no, i'm not worried about blowing it . I'm worried about blowing it doing a 140+. thats when that bigger pulley might come into play for blowing it. My motor has done a few 140 runs and it does great with the 4lb. I want to run safe on top end runs, but thinking the bottle will just get me there alot faster and not running a ton of boost to keep me safe up there. Plus i'm going to go a little more extreme on my chip tuning. so, i think i'll be happy with just that. I wanted to get more info on effective nitrous setups without spending a butt load of money. actually spending the least amount and it being effective.plus long tubes are kinda exspensive for the gain they have. e water pump too.

There are a few tuners in TX that can dynotune. I'm not sure how far you are from Dallas, but Lonestar Performance just started carrying JDM products including their Superchips program. They have a dyno so you may want to look them up, I myself am considering them.
