My first 300 mile tank of gas!

I didn't think it could be done. Doing all the city driving that I do and frequent run-ins with boost, I usually get anywhere from 240-270 miles per tank. Well, before I filled up today, I actually hit 306. I must be doing something wrong...I guess I should floor it more often!

Some of you highway drivers, what is the most miles per tank you've seen out of your L?

I usually don't run mine down that low. Maybe once or twice in 50K. It's not a good idea to run it to the bottom of the tank as 'gunk' may be there, waiting to foul up your pump(s), filter, or injectors.

I just add up the gals. used over several fill-ups and then do the math. Mine is getting 14-15 mpg with about 85% interstate cruising(70-80 mph).

I don't know how far you actually consider low, but I just don't like filling up with gas every other day. Usually I'll fill it up with about an 1/8 tank left, but here recently, I've been putting gas in as soon as the low fuel light comes on...that way I could see how far I could get. I'll probably resort to the 1/8 tank rule again. I started that when I was younger because I ran out of gas in my Escort EXP one too many times. And it was no fault of my own really...the fuel guage wasn't reading correctly so I never truly knew how much gas i had.

The only times I see 300+ miles per tank is when I'm on the highway on a trip and towing at the same time. 2 weeks ago went to Va, made it just past Charlotte from Atl and hit 310 with my trailer and 2 bikes and bed with about 500 lbs of stuff.

In daily driving to work and city can't get past 270

I got exactly 12mpg last time I kept track, and that was a mix of highway and city driving. 300 exactly

Hmmm, never seen my Low Fuel Light come on yet. Guess I usually fill up at no less than an 1/8 tank. Always seems to be in the neighborhood of 13mpg.

I usually get 300 miles out of mine every other fillup. I think the most I saw was 318 miles on a tank. My mpg averages 13.4, with a low of 12.6 and a high of 14.4 (so far!). Lotta highway between work and home.

Last weekend I had 263 when I filled up, but had only used a little over half a tank Worked out to a litle over 18 mpg. That was 95% highway though.

DAMN!

I get 11 mpg average...

If I go out on the highway, I get 14mpg (assuming I don't have any fun)

I was running on fumes...

But I made 426 miles before a fillup. I was coming back to Alabama from Texas, and pumped up my tires to 35psi all around before I left. I averaged 73.8 mph. Put in 24.2 gal when I filled up, but I filled it to the top of the filler tube.

LOCO--You're now my hero! You and Kramer are the only two people I know brave enough to get the needle that far below "E" . (Remember that show?)
