Ford Screwed Me Again

well went to get my serpintine belt replaced at a ford dealer, easy right, not with this L,another ford dealer that i refuse to go back to that ruined my last motor b/c they tried tostart it out of time, well they installed a new motor under warranty, which is not a warranty concern,so anyway i went to a ford dealer yesterday for the belt and they said one of the crank pulley bolts is crossthreaded and they cant remove it,so i called ford and they will do nothing, nothing like getting screwed with yoiur pants on,turns out they might try to take it out but i might need a crankshaft if they cant drill it out, real slick ford, im going back to gm i think, ford can kiss my a$$-if this is how you treat customer of a 32,000$ vehilce then go **** urselfs, thanks again ford,i hope your reading this ford you bas$ards.

Sounds like another satisfied customer.
Also sounds like the mechanic doesn't know **** about what he is talking about. The harmonic balancer is pressed on and one bolt kind of holds it. So I don't know why they would "one of" the bolts when there is only one bolt which doesn't even have to be touched to replace any belt... Cooter and Gomer at work in PA?

This is EXACTLY why I do 100% of my own work. (except electrical)

I simply don't trust a dealship and the labor force they employ. I'm sure there are great techs out there. Just wish I knew and trusted a couple around here.

You should be able to walk away form this one a winner. Get in touch with a regional rep, and fight it. Hell, if you don't have an aftermarket pulley, give them a class on simple physics and geometry. That bolt on the pulley WILL tighten after time on a crank moving in the opposite direction. Jeez. I'll even draw it out for them if you want me to... with nice coloful arrows and such... dumb-a$$es

You must remove the cage for the supercharger pulley. That is probably where one of the bolts is stripped. Or maybe they were turning the pulley the wrong way for removal? If it is a 2000 0r 1999 maybe the bolts which hold on the adpter plate to the harmonic balancer are striped?
Best idea is to get a lower pulley from one of the Lightning vendor people and it will have instruction on how to remove the stock pulley system. It will also make replacing the accessory drive belt easy. Not a $300 tow to the dealer job when it breaks.
