Over 7 Months, Still noone will race me!

Last night was a nice night to take the truck out, take the g/f out to dinner, and what not. And she lives in IN so I strolled on down 30 and took the main roads to her house in the hopes to actually find a car to race! It seems noone A) knows I have a truck thats fast, or B) just afraid. *shrug*.

Only good thing about IN is its full of stuck up rich kids that have fast cars mommy and daddy buy em <grin>... BUT I will say its also the only place I can find Lightning owners that wave and smile. None in IL

Anyhoot, passed all sorts of mean mustangs, camaros, and even some nice looking (mean sounding) trans ams. All the oppisite way though. I gave a little gas as I passed to let them hear the s/c wind a bit (love that sound...)...

I was disapointed not finding anything all the way to her house. She had to hear all about and made fun of me. But we headed back up main street in Crown Point and I seen a nice white mustang all jacked up in the back. Newer body style. I tried my hardest to catch up without speeding, and sure enough I got on the side of him at a light. It had a scoope in the front, jacked read end, and larger tires on the back. Sounds pretty dam* mean. And I looked over and all tinted so I Couldn't see anyone *sniff*. I waited for a rev, something, but nothing. And I was kind of scared because the car I could race for the first time in the truck was a nicely done mustang *JOY*...

He got on it a at the start a little and I about 1/4 pedal it and nice little noise from the s/c going, and got along side and looked over to see if he would go, he did it again, and so did I, and right there with him, then he didn't do anything else. I think he tested me, found out he didn't want none of me ... Baaa!!!! I had my mustang and everyone wanted a peice of me. Now I can't find anyone. Is it just because they don't know my truck is fast? or is it becasue they KNOW my truck is FAST

Oh well, some day soon... And does a upper blower pulley hurt the blower any? Make its life that much shorter? I read a lot of posts about 'to make it streetable, get a #4 lower' and thats it. Nothing really about upper. I prob shouldn't. I have a #4 lower, chip, and the shift kit now. I wanted to get the ram air kit, exhaust, and the f1 cobra r hood for the truck and I think thats as far as I want to go seeing how its still a daily driver, in winter too

I have the same problem. I have had my truck for about 5 months now, and the only person I have had try to race me was in a Mitsubishi Montiero. I played with him up to about 110, and then I left him. I have a 1970 Ford F100 that is my daily driver, and when I am in it I see all kinds of potential races of course, but when I am in the L noone will try me. I think the word is out on how fast these trucks really are. I did have a Cobra rev at me in traffic once, but it was bumper to bumper so I couldn't do anything about it. I, like you am still anxiously awaiting my first good race.

Come up here...I'll be your Huckleberry

I haven't had many good races here either. Yesterday a sharp-looking WS6 LS1 caught up to me through traffic. The road ahead (highway) was clear but all he did was pull up beside me, stare at me through his tinted windows, and drive on past. People should have LED signs around here that say "I will race"....

Why don't you guys try the local track? I'm sure there would be plenty of cars to race.

Northbrook eh? Thats up 55 somewhere? I've actually been going up 55 a lot lately (394 -> 294 -> 80 -> 55) because my g/f's sister moved to bolingbrook or something like that. I see a lot of Euro type cars on 55 but again, they all ignore me like i'm a construction worker or something. Baah... I'm thinking of a huge decal .. ''RACE ME... ITS FAST''

Another hot spot I noticed is up Cicero going up towards midway off 294. I see a lot of hot cars there too. Seems the odds are, they are always in the oppisite direction

But I just keep an eye out and see if I can find anyone... I get enough trucks messing with me but its just not even close to fun. Our Ls are beyond truck stage I get a lot of people in like full size chevys or dodges, with those glass pack exhausts and they ride me, prob see SVT, and fly past thinking their truck can compete, heh... its fun to just give a little gas and cruize on by. I don't even attempt to go at it with them. Waste of gas. Was a SRT Dodge V-10 or what ever, I would give it a shot. Or a Chevy SS pickup truck they made, even though super slow, just have to do it to break the spirit of the Chevy owner thinking Chevy made a fast pick up truck. Bwhahaha!

I'm waiting for my friends to get another free night (Fri or Sat) to head down to 41's track or even route 66 when they have a open night thing again. I have never been to the track so. Anything I need to do to the truck to let them, let me, take it on the track? Or just pretty much as is? I isn't fast enought o need a chute or anything. But would like to take it when I get a chance.

I've been having the same problem lately. I ordered a custom license plate which I'll have near the end of the month. Hopefully that will help. KWIKRNU It is more fun to race around on the streets. You don't need drive shaft loops, roll cages, or helmet.

He's right...

Chris's truck is slow. Couldn't get out of its own way. He tried to run me on the highway once and I thought it was a flareside regular F150...or a fake Lightning....
