dealer won't give out prev. owner info?

called up my dealership where i bought my truck, cause it's killing me knowing my motor has been pulled by the prvious owner. the car fax is clean. I called the used service manager and he said "i cannot do that" . hmmmm , i get transfered to new car sale, then i ask for the gm, and just so happens he is in a meeting after they learn i am not happy. i told them my truck was not inspected by them before they made it available for purchase. Can you say they can stick my foot somewhere if they try to deny my warrenty? Cause there was still tape on the computer where a chip was in there and its on its second trnasmission, computer wiring harness been hacked. I found this out after i took it to my tuner. So whats up with this. they said they couldnt let me have that info. i thought they could>?

"Privacy" issues prevent them from giving out a person's private info. If, you can get his name(and they may not even be able to that?), then you can try and talk directly to him. It's up to him then whether he tells you anything.................

As far as the previous owner info they cannot disclose his/her name and address due to privacy laws. You should be able to get from Ford a list of all dealer done service work on the vehicle you own. Ford would be able to track that via the VIN number, without any conflict.

ermmm. don't now. i feel like they are always fake when a dealer hands it to me. that second transmission didn't even show up, and the dealership did that work.

If I'm reading your post correctly, your saying the motor was pulled by the previous owner?

Why do u want to contact him. Just to see what he was running in or do you have a problem. Just wondering. Good luck.

Did the dealership disclose that, or did you find out on your own? Perhaps I'm missing an earlier post on this subject, but I'm confused. Not sure why the original owner would pull a motor that was under warranty unless it had major problems he didn't want Ford to know about.

I know my 2002 was re-sold by the dealership with the original computer, minus my chip..................of course I removed all the tape, but anyone can tell it was chipped. They replaced the tranny too, but it was leaking......must have been that pressure bump from the chip...........

Anyway, try your contact through DPS, they should be able to determine through your state's DMV who was the previous owner.

HAHA, just praying that maybe theres a built bottom end down there and maybe a 4v conversion you didnt notice, i like that idea. That would be the coolest day and the fastest drive to a tuner ever.
