Somebody lucky is going to get that extra bonus (Manley rods) when Rich D's truck sells here in Ft. Lauderdale. I doubt that the Pontiac dealer knows and even so probably wouldn't tell potential buyers of it. That would be the deal closer for me!

"uhh yes sir, we inspected your vehicle, and uhhh, we happend to find this other supercharger taped near the transmission apparently for later use. It says Works, or something like that on there im not sure what that means. We also found this big suitcase full of money and an 20 year old girl who apparently wants you really bad.

That'll be $25.50"

I asked for a copy of the old title, which contains the name and address of the previous owner, and the selling price to the dealer. My salesman made a copy of it for me. I called information for the phone number and called the previous owner.

We chatted for a while and I found out a few interesting things.

If you know where it has been serviced you could send a cute woman in with the VIN number and have her ask politely to look it up and get the name of the previous owner.

What are you asking for, owner info, or the owner's name? I would think you could ask for a service history and the name would show up there.

No doesn't always mean no, but you may have to ask over and over again, and never get upset. Maybe, that owner had some service down somewhere else around town.

what greencrew said sounds about right

With VIN number you should be able to go into any Ford service dept and get service/warranty history including name of owner. I did this 7 years ago when I was thing of buying Misu 3000VR4. Found owner talked to him, he acted hinky, so I came to my senses and didn't buy car. Old title info should also provide what you need. Good luck! Might try shaking dealer up by insinuating possible fraud issues, bettetter business bureau of state dept. of consumer affairs.

If it was me and I wanted to know about the rods.
I'd drain the oil and get a borescope and look up into the oil pan
