The true essesence of a muscle car/truck is to DRIVE it.

I too keep mine out of the winter snot. But it's been designed for use.

Go for it man. I don't care what anyone says, you can not truely enjoy a vehicle that sits in a garage its whole life. Drive it! That is what is was made for. -Mat-

This is kind of funny because I am in the process of getting mine put away. I picked up my $500 93 Explorer last week and have been driving it ever since. Actyually, it is very fun to drive. I will save the Lightning for those nice days when I can enjoy it... but now what do I do with the Cobra.... I guess it won't see anymore miles thus preserving it's value.

Rain I'll drive in, but I bought another car to definately avoid the snow.

That and the daily commute to Jersey City...

I put mine away for about 5 months of winter...

But in the other 9 months that I've had her I put on 29k.

Mine is definately a daily driver, and a nightly driver, and a weekend driver, and a... you get the picture. And I wouldn't give up one mile of it, and I wouldn't want one tank of gas back.

Needfourspeed I regretted driving it too when I got hit. But don't look at it that way. Why have a vehicle you're afraid to drive? That's what you got insurance for right?

Lots of fun..................If you're looking for above average performance(mid 13's stock, so as you can tell, I suck driving cause I can't launch for crap), TONS OF LOOKS AND ATTENTION, and great value, get yourself one..............It's not as fast as a Cobra of course, but worlds better than a GT for sure. If your goal is to have an 11 second ride, then keep your Lightning.................but with relatively few mods, this car can go low to mid 12's easily..............there's several out there already doing it. But I think that's pretty much the edge of its potential until someone designs a blower for this engine.............remember, this engine is kinda like a hybrid between an '01 snake, and a '03 snake.....

check out www.mach1registry.com if you have questions.....

I had mine for 1 year w/o it seeing rain. Then a certain situation happened and I had to start driving daily.

It's not that bad, what the point of having a vehicle that you don't want to drive?

it's not that i don't want to drive the vehicles... it's that i want to preserve it's finish from the rain/salt/snow. plus, the vehicle can't really be enjoyed in those elements anyway.

Talking

Salt and snow I'll agree with you 93cobra. but not fun in the rain?

Wanna ride with me....

You'd be amazed at how much you can learn about the "limited slip" diff, suspension setups, and finding the limits of F1s is alway *fun*. Not to mention getting practice and the feel of the truck/tires on how to feather the throttle when coming off the line.
